Hi there, I'm a naturopath in Hastings and do a lot of hair testing for food intolerances. From my pharmacist background I'm very familiar with the doctors use of steroids and antibiotics use and how it affects the body long term. I'd love to help you get your child back to good health. Definitely sounds like a food intolerance (or two!). The top six food culprits are gluten, dairy, eggs, soy, yeast and tomatoes. Food, mood and behaviour are connected so once she is sorted (and she will be, honest!), you'll notice her mood will be 100% better, as will her sleep :) If you'd like to email alison@healthyeating.net.nz I will give you some meal ideas that eliminates the main culprits.
Trina A. replied:
Normally I'd say wait it out, she should start to eat when she's ready. But it sounds like you have waited as much as you can, so I would suggest talking to Alison at Healthy Eating, she may have some advice, although I dealt with her with a 3 year old.

There are powder probiotics available to support her gut flora and immunity. There is also a product called https://www.facebook.com/264280180269780 The Kefir Company - medicine in a bottle, a fermented flavoured healer for the gut (check the page, ask your questions). Check her breads/weetbix, these can upset the gut lining leading to leaky gut because we often can't break down the wheat/gluten which causes upset. Also what is she drinking? Unfortunately supermarket milk is quite harmful as it's multi-processed and can upset with lactose problems. Bear in mind lots of water has a build up of fluoride in her system, which can have personal affects too. Easy nutrients like fruit smoothies, or fruit with good yoghurt, ground almonds etc, or rice/almond milk. There are also plenty of Weleda remedies for tummy, immunity etc. Plenty of practitioners or health shops too:) lots of cuddles and heart connection.

We're local brokers and happy to answer any questions you have or point you in the right direction. We generally lean towards nib or Partners Life for Health Insurance as they provide funds for non-pharmac funded drugs, and they have guaranteed policy wordings. We can talk you through options and provide you with quotes so you know what you're looking at - then it's totally up to you where you go to from there, absolutely no pressure. There's a huge amount of info out there and lots of options so I know it can be daunting. Feel free to PM us.

Happy to help, there are many aspect to Health Insurance, what works for one doesn’t always work for another. As has been said, saving for GP’s is often a more cost effective approach, up to the point you’re making enough claims to justify insuring. Depending on provider, will depend on that line. Which is where an adviser is the place to go. As has been said Partners Life and nib have excellent major medical policies, at the same time pre-existing conditions sometimes need more focus and the nib option for this can be quite limiting. Partners Life don’t do pre-existing conditions. I’m a specialist in this area and operate with all of the medical insurers in the New Zealand market. I can even cover all of your pre-existing conditions, even if it’s hips, hearts and cancer. PM me and we can have a friendly chat about what the best approach would be for your family.

Thanks Nicki Lampon for your referral. Hello there. Im Bridgitt McNabb the Naturopath from Maintaining Your Health in Taradale. Yes hair loss can be attributed to stress as well as a lack in other nutrients. Stress can affect how the gut absorps food and much needed nutrients. I can offer a Naturopath consult to get to the underlying cause and create a Wellbeing Plan using nutrition, herbs and flower remedies. Dr Stephen Toynton at Royston does it $150 I think (same as Greenmeadows). There is also a paediatrician at Hastings hospital that could do it as an outpatient I assume? My twins were done the day after they were born by him while we were still at the hospital. My first saw Dr Toynton, he specializes in it. His was severe so cutting conscious wasn't enough. He needed surgery at 1 year so it didn't affect his speech. Dr Toynton did it through the public service for that.

So my question would be why are you putting carpet back in??? I dont really need an answer just telling you how wonderful it was living in a dust free home.
