My daughter went to Neil Tobin at the OC orthodontics palmerston north she had overcrowding but he doesn't like to extract teeth unless absolutely necessary. He did a fantastic job with her teeth. Not sure if this helps. All the best. ..

Andy from HB Orthodontics in Havelock North is very, very nice. I'm sure he would be very happy to go slow and gentle with your son. I don't know about the free consultation though.

If you are in Napier and he does not have a dentist appointed yet then you could try Clive Square Dental and ask for Kate. She specialises in childrens dental health and is just lovely. I am not sure where to from there but would be a good experience for your son to start with and she could recommend from there I am sure.He is 11 so no charge for normal dental appointments but you would have to register him with their practice

Hawkes Bay Orthodontics are fantastic. Andrew or Kirsty are both very well regarded. Our daughter has been going since the age of 6-7 yrs to Andrew there and I've been really pleased.

Sax Dearing and his team are great. Our 7 yo needed braces as teeth were growing back to front and sideways. Was a long journey but they were amazing. We paid an initial deposit and then each time we went which certainly helped.
