Animal Rescue of Dedham or Medfield Animal Shelter. We have adopted all our cats (3) from both shelters. Both shelters have web sites so you can see what cats or kittens are available.

A bit of a drive, but Pat Brody Shelter for Cats in Lunenburg is one shelter. I adopted my wonderful brown tabby from them. Also, Second Chance Animal Shelter has cats at Petsmart in Framingham. Store staff can let you interact with the cats. They have a website, secondchanceanimals.org.
Looking for recommendations for animal shelters where I can play with cats/kittens a few times to see if I am still allergic, before we adopt. Does anyone have good/bad...

Animal Rescue League of Boston in Dedham has a great facility and are really knowledgeable. You can go and pet them and spend time with them. My kids had a great time because they have lots of other animals to see too. I am also allergic to LOTS of cats but when my son saw that I didn't react to his cousins new kittens that was it we had to find some I wasn't allergic to.... We ended up adopting from PAWS of Plainville (where my sister in law got their kittens). I was able to go and see them and know that I wasn't going to react. It is a rescue shelter and the staff is great.

We rescued our little guy a year and a half ago from Buddy Dog in Sudbury. They are amazing and have cats and dogs!

Grace MacTough Chan, there's also a cat shelter in Medway too. Cat connection. I found the arl to be a little rude when I asked to do the same. It was a while back but they only wanted youto take one out at a time and only if you were seriously going to adopt.
