Are you in margate? I did a lift in ventnor and used a family friend, Andy Schaeffer (Schaeffer, Nassar Shindigg - (609) 625-7400) for engineering work. Dan Mascione architect in Northfield ((609) 383-9000) Both have done a lot of elevation work and know the Absecon Island towns building folks. Both were great to work with and got me through all the planning stages including a height variance.

I'm going to suggest paying a small percentage and using Escrow.com. I've used them for five figure deals in the past. They hold the money. No arguing. Work gets done, the money is released, contractor knows it's coming within 48 hours of completion.

who designs what your house sits on engineer or architect ? I need to know how many pilings to get prices
Pat O. replied:
The architect hires and engineering firm that specializes in this. You will need a soil boring test also. I used a wonderful contractor of custom modular homes - Zarrilli Homes on Mantoloking Road in Brick. Before I hired them, I used Simon Engineering, www.sellcnet.com for the soil boring and Geotechnical Report. Zarrilli hired on my behalf D.W.Smith www.dwsmith.com of Wall Township. to engineer the load and piling depths required. Ferry Dharmwan, PE was well worth the money - informative and patient with a stressed out me. Zarrilli hired Butrick Bulkhead for my pilings but I love LeChard and used them for my bulkhead. they are pricy but great. You really need an engineering firm to assist you. Hope this helps!
