Need recommendations for Orthopedic Surgeons who specialize in Spinal Surgery anywhere in CT. Would like to hear both the positive and/or negative views. Thank you!
Theresa D. replied:
Dr Garden in Bantam! I broke my back and he did the surgery. In the course of ten years, I had 13 major surgeries. Every single one had complications or infections except Dr. Garden! Works out of NM hospital! I can not speak highly enough about this man.
Michelle D. replied:
Dr Levi...Pain & Spine specialist of CT, he has a New Milford Office & Danbury
Bonnie W. replied:
Speaking from experience, you want a neurosurgeon, not an orthopod. In Danbury Dr. Shahid and Dr Batson's practice. They fixed my spine, I am good as can be with a steel plate and 7 screws in my spine. 203-792-2003
Carol M. replied:
Dr. Shahid in Danbury
Jillian D. replied:
My husband had a severely herniated disk shaved down by Dr. Shahid in Danbury. He is an excellent surgeon that came highly recommended to us. It has been 2 years and he is still doing wonderfully. The after surgery care at DH however was not great. I had high expectations after I delivered both of my babies there. Turns out the labor and delivery was beyond outstanding and very attentive, but we had the opposite experience when he had to stay overnight for observation because the surgery was delayed due to an emergency. Just a word of caution based on our own experience.

Dr. Sanderson is amazing. He basically saved my husband from paralysis. He doesn't operate unless it's truly warranted. He is kind and very bright.

Dr. Michael Karnasiewicz, he is located in Waterbury, exit 18. He did my 3 rd spinal surgery. Excellent dr, comes highly recommended. He also had a great team and bedside manner
Tommy Z. replied:
Your best bet is to get away from New Milford and Danbury and go to Yale. Dr Jonathan Grauer. Dr George (who I believe is no longer around due to many malpractice suits) screwed up my wife's back with surgery. Pain for two years. Kept telling her it was in her mind. She went to Dr Jonathan Grauer and saw it wasn't fused correctly. Fixed it and has been better ever since.
Okay so I need to find a good orthopedic in the New Milford area that isn't tied to Danbury Hospital. Okay and go...
Kim S. replied:
He has a office in New Milford also Bonnie Goodbou Price at NM Hospital
Judy H. replied:
Dr Brown has taken care of Oscar for years! Honest and caring!
Bonnie P. replied:
Dr Brown is in Torrington now right Judy Ward Harvey
Lucinda O. replied:
Dr. Brown is great and he works out of Charolette in Torrington....
Kate O. replied:
Jennifer Vincent Lesiak Check NMOA link above. They are not connected with Western CT Medical Group. The MD's do do surgeries in the NM Hospital but that does not mean that they are in any way owned by WCMG. Depending on what you need, you will need to specify to be sent to the right MD there. I have been going there for 13 years for hand injuries and my family has also been there for lower extremities. All great experiences and Select Physical Therapy is located in the same building with OT & PT
Kristine K. replied:
I know my friend works at Dr Gardner in Bantam and he has a great reputation
Zina S. replied:
New Milford Orthopedic...
Jamie L. replied:
The orthos have specialty so depends on what you need to be seen for, for instance Dr. George specializes in the spine. If you have an upper extremity or hand problem Dr. Yugobian is the man to see. If I recall correctly

Helga E. replied:
Oh no I am on shock! Dr. George gone and Mona passing away. That is so sad. He operated on my neck 8 years ago. A great Dr. A big loss for the area.
