Dr Steckel is a peds Dr too.
Patti D. replied:
My son sees Dr. Mathias and he's been great. He performed two surgeries on my son's eyes and the outcome has been wonderful. My son will need another eye surgery at some point and Dr. Mathias has been great about keeping tabs on him and helping us determine the best time to undertake another surgery.
Eileen D. replied:
Dr Mathias is awesome!
Liz B. replied:
Dr. Marhias
Michelle J. replied:
We also went to Dr Mathias when my daughter was 5 - wonderful doctor. My insurance at the time wouldn't cover Dr Reynolds but I have heard he's great also. We used to see Dr Way, but in my opinion I wouldn't bring my child there.
Joanne S. replied:
Dr Mathias - http://www.danburyeye.com/ he is in same complex as Candlewood Valley Pediatrics on top level.
Sharon M. replied:
Dr. Mathias or Marcone, both excellent doctors!
Christine V. replied:
Dr Way is an optometrist. The Doctors at Danbury Eye Physicians are ophthalmologists.
Lynda W. replied:
Danbury Eye Dr. Mathias is great for kids. It's a great practice with excellent docs! Been going there - including 4 kids for more than 30 years.

Christine V. replied:
Dr. Zuckerman, Danbury Eye Physicians, Rt 202 across from Bel-air. He is fabulous with kids! My son has an eye condition that required a lot of treatment when he was young. Dr. Z was FABULOUS with him! My boy *loved* the eye drops during the exam, because it gave him "dinosaur eyes". Dr. Z is very friendly & thorough! STRONGLY recommend!

Can anyone recommend a good eye doctor that takes VSP?
Stacy S. replied:
Love Dr Way at Private Eye
Jenn H. replied:
Dr. Way is great!
Christine V. replied:
I believe Dr. Way is an Optometrist, not an Ophthalmologist. Depending on your needs, that may be fine, but if you're in need of treatment for a medical condition of the eye, see an Ophthalmologist.
Christine V. replied:
Please go look at my first post on the subject. I am not knocking Dr. Way in any way (no pun intended). What I said was, he is an optometrist (correct me if I'm wrong) and depending on the posters needs, that may be fine.
Stephanie E. replied:
We ususlly go to Dr Way but I've tried their office everyday this week and just get a recording. Trying to get appointments before year-end.
Stacy S. replied:
Been using Dr Way for years with no issues,he always spends time talking to see if anything has changed.I don't have glasses but my husband does and he is always making sure his prescription is still the right one that works for him
Leslie T. replied:
Check with Dr. Rahmati here in town...also Dr.Reynolds. See if they take your insurance. Sr. Rahmati does surgery also.
Jessica S. replied:
Actually, I would not recommend Dr. Way. He's not very good.
Amanda K. replied:
I'd give danbury eye physicians a call and see if they take that insurance. Dr. Marcone (cone pronounced like coney) and Dr. Todd are wonderful women. I've been seeing them almost my entire life.
Any recommendations for an eye doctor for my 8 and 10 year old daughters?
