Kateland K. replied:
I'm a big advocate of people realizing that Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants are a good option, especially for Family Medicine and General Practice! Granted....I am a PA-C, so I'm a bit biased

Barth and Allen split up and the office staff has changed a bit as well - not sure if that makes a difference - but it has me willing to give Dr. Barth another try.

My mother adored Dr. Pet. On several occasions, he "prescribed" her pastries from the Grand Patissierie, back in the day.

Leighann K. replied:
I can say Dr Marici as well. I used to live here in New Milford and he was my doctor. Moved to Torrington for 12 years. Kept Marici for 2 years but with three kids and opening a daycare I could no longer travel down here to him. But we just moved back here about 3 weeks ago. Trying to decide what to do. My health has changed dramatically since I last seen Marici. But he was great
Bethany D. replied:
Dr Pet isn't taking any new patients.

Hi! Looking for a primary physician/group in Newtown or close by for my husband and I. Thanks in advance!
Whitney G. replied:
Community Health Associates! Love Dr Modwel! she spent a full hour with me for my first appointment- trying to diagnose a problem.
Kathy K. replied:
Dr Farrell or Dr Mascia of Western Connecticut Medical Group - used to be Brookfield Family Medicine in Brookfield- just past Costco.
Jennifer J. replied:
I always recommend Dr. Jennifer Holloway on Mt. Pleasant near exit 9 - wonderful care and a great PA if you need short notice appts for routine things. I know she has gotten increasingly busy so it is hard to get a new patient appt but she is worth the wait. Many nurses I know prefer her as their own PCP as well.
Susan H. replied:
If you don't mind going to New Milford, New Milford Medical Group is fantastic. Dr. Leonardi is my PCP but I see one of their PA's, Dimitri, for most visits. He's amazing - thorough, caring, spends time and pays attention. He's worth his weight in gold. nmmedicalgroup.com
Monica M. replied:
A second one for Community Health Associates, although I'm going to recommend.....guess it.....!? Dr. Isgut! LOL I haven't seen him in a while, and he is always traveling, but he is a phenomenal physician. Very old school, a true believer in spending however long it takes with the patient. So I'm guessing that when he left the old practice at 33 Church Hill Road, he joined another one that believes the same way (as in Dr. Modwell). Choosing a physician for me is tough, because of what I do for a living - I've sued so many of them. unsure emoticon
Jennifer J. replied:
I agree on Dr. Isgut, one of my favorites to work with as a nurse, great diagnostician
Monica M. replied:
When my daughter was 2 weeks old, we brought her in to him for a well visit, and she was co-sleeping with us (she did so until 18 months). When Dr. Isgut asked how she was sleeping, I sheepishly said "with us" (well, in Spanish since I'm Colombian). He went "do it - it's natural."
Jennifer J. replied:
Susan if that is the same group with Dr. Beck I have heard fabulous things about him from friends and patients!
Susan H. replied:
Yep Jennifer my husband's PCP is Dr. Beck and he sees Dimitri as well and loves him as much as I do!
Hi everyone, I received 2 recommendations for a primary care doctor in the area from my OBGYN. Dr Doreen Konik and Dr Karen Tarbell any thoughts? Thank you in advance!
Susanne S. replied:
Dr Konik is terrific!!
Karl K. replied:
My wife loves Dr Tarbell!
Patricia T. replied:
I love Dr Tarbell.
Marissa H. replied:
Been seeing Dr. Konic since we moved here a couple years ago and really like her. She was the first doctor I tried based on reviews and have kept going. The practice though is busy and when ur sick, they steer u towards PAs though I do like who they have. I did have to make an app just today to see Dr. Konic and she is so busy, I have to see one of the other doctors and not until next Friday. That part really stinks but then again that's how these practices usually are.
Cathleen B. replied:
Dr. Pet or Konic
April W. replied:
I like Dr Tarbell and her Front desk Angela is wonderful- not so much her partner
Makenzie F. replied:
Dr Konik is amazing! I love all the Drs at New Milford Medical Group! I just see whoever is available and they are all wonderful.
Kenzie C. replied:
I've been going to Dr. Tarbell since I was a little girl! She is amazing!
Donna T. replied:
I love Dr Tarbell but someone told me she wasn't taking new patients. I've been with her for about 18 years
We are looking for a primary care physician in New Milford. We would like to go to someone who has been recommended rather than blindly pick a Dr. out of the list on...
Lynn S. replied:
Dr. Kenneth Marici- been very happy with him
Jill B. replied:
Dr. Doreen Konik at New Milford Medical Group860-355-1149. I could go on and on about how wonderful she is. She listens, gives you her time, weighs in with her experience, and most importantly, she really cares. You would never be a number. She remembers your medical record. She never suggests unnecessary tests. She does everything she can to make you as comfortable as possible. She even emails on weekends! And they have an in house Quest diagnostics lab, which makes it very convenient. She also has a great PA named Amanda Novella who is just as wonderful. There are several other doctors there, so you can always get in when sick. Highly recommend!
Lisa A. replied:
Dr. Karen Tarbell is very thorough. Western Ct Medical Group- in new plaza by Home Goods.
Theresa V. replied:
New Milford Medical Group, then if your dr is not there someone else has your file. I see Dr Beck, very happy with them!

Gina L. replied:
Karen Tarbell - she is beyond thorough & gives you all the time that you need. She listens and is incredibly knowledgable!
Cindy P. replied:
All mentioned above are very solid physicians and caring people. Dr. Allen is another one. My recommendation is to take a few minutes with a handful. Selecting a physician is personal. Dr. Peter Anderson, Dr. Jeff Tyler, Allen, Turchiano, all good choices and have not heard anything bad about Barth either.
Lynne D. replied:
Pacey Pet
Jillian D. replied:
Doreen Konik at New Milford Medical Group. I have written about her here many times.
Sue A. replied:
Dr. Pet is very good.
Heather S. replied:

I'm fresh out if college at the point in my life where I need to start taking care of my health on my own and I'm having a difficult time finding out how to choose...
Dan S. replied:
My recommendations: New Milford Medical Group. Dmitri Ghecas takes great care of me and one of their primary physicians is a personal friend. (860) 355-1149. North of town on 202 by about a mile. For eyes: Danbury Eye Physicians & Surgeons, Dr. Jodi Zamecki (860) 946-6000. She will be doing a surgery on me this month. I trust her. Right around the corner from Dmitri. Dentists: Caring Dental Group. Dr. Jang Dr. Suhae. (860) 354-2530. Acros the street from McDonalds. My dental assistant there of choice is Megan, the taller one. There are two. Mental health: I can't help you there. They've all told me I'm too much and fired me.:) Please use my name when calling. You might get an extra lollipop. Seriously, it might make you feel more welcome. Let me know if you need anything else, Emma. PM me if you wish.
Jason R. replied:
I just switched to Primary Care of NM under primary care physician' city_state='New Milford, CT' class='name_reco'>Dr. Barth this year, no complaints yet! Also, check out Greenwoods in Litchfield for mental health, I highly recommend.
Katie R. replied:
PCP: I use Brookfield Family Medicine and have been very happy. In New Milford I know there is a family practice in the hospital which I've heard is great. Dentist: Dr Mullen near Sarah Noble. Mental Health: depends on insurance. Many places do not accept insurance. I would call your insurance company and check who is covered in the area. Star Psych in Bethel is great. You may need to see a few people before finding a good match. Good luck!!
Jessica T. replied:
As someone who worked for an optometrist for over six years, an important thing I learned is that the optometrist is like your primary doctor. You see them once a year, and then they will refer you to the proper specialist (ophthalmologist) if you need one. Dr. Schramm at Brookfield Vision Care is a great optometrist and she works with an incredible network of specialists in the area.
Chris C. replied:
For primary care my wife and I both use Dr. Karen Coblens in Danbury. She's excellent and takes time to learn about you and explains everything.
Maureen Y. replied:
Dr Kenneth Marici at the Booth House in town is a great primary care doctor. My husband and I have been patients for years. Dr. Trias on Aspetuck Rd is a wonderful OB/ Gyn, and I've been a patient of Dr. Izzo, a dentist on Church St, forever. Love them all❤️
Amanda H. replied:
Dr. Peter Anderson for primary. He is out of the hospital. He has helped me with headaches and anxiety. He takes his time and is a great doctor. Dr. Waldman for dental. He is great and his staff is also. He will never say you have an issue or need work you don't just to make money. Dr. Way for eye care. He is very nice and caught an issue in my eye that other dr.s never did. Dr. Papov women's health is a great practice for women's needs. Welcome to New Milford!
Pauline B. replied:
As for a dentist .. no nonsense and not part of a for huge profit ... let's recommend and terrify her group.. Dr Glenn Wilson. I got my husband to regularly see him after a 20 year fear. As for primary care ... I see NM medical but for anything I can I go to the minute clinic at CVS. Faster ... better NP ... and 1/2 the cost on my health plan.
Christina F. replied:
I'll second Caring Dental. They've been great with me and my complex medical history. My GP is Dr Turchiano here in NM and I've been very happy with him for 7 years. Dr Way (sp?) is a decent ophthalmologist here in NM too.
Recommendation for a good female primary care physician in the area?
