I don't have experience with a latex, but I have this one in a larger size and it's been pretty good. I bought it as a temporary bed and have kept it about 2 years. It's firm enough I wish I bought the 12 inch instead of 8. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00KFE0A2O/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1

Recommendations on where to buy a mattress Looking to buy a mattress, the one I have now has a divot I always end up in and breaking my back.
Any advice on where to...
Gumburcules replied:
Mattresses are a racket. Every store charges insane markups.
Also, pretty much all the mattress stores carry the exact same stock, but the mattress companies give different names to the exact same product that gets shipped to different stores so you can't comparison shop. So for instance a "Sealy Cloudrest 2000" at Mattress Discounters and a "Sealy Sexmaster" at Sleepy's could be the exact same mattress.
My advice is to visit a bunch of different stores, find a mattress you like at each of them, then play them against each other to get a lower price. Understand that there is seriously like a 600% markup on mattresses, so if they tell you they're cutting their own throat by offering 40% off, don't believe them. Also, do not be afraid to walk out. In fact, you want to walk out, then call them and say the other store is giving you the same mattress for less and this is their last chance for a sale.
Sadly, buying a mattress is like buying a used car. You gotta play the game or get ripped off.

Do you know any friends who work in hospitality? I bought the same mattress they use at the Waldorf Astoria for $500 delivered (Queen size). There's an employee purchase program for most hotel companies that works pretty well. If you want to try the mattress, just stay at that brand hotel on your next trip.

If your looking for a tempurpedic memory foam check out bobs discount furniture. Their memory foam line bob o pedic it is exactly the same quality and substantially less. I paid 1000 for my queen size, the same would go for around 7000 else where. And if you not looking for a memory foam bed, you should. Your back will thank me later.

IKEA!!!! They aren't the dinky mattresses you may remember. They now sell a variety of types, and I can tell you that as someone whose old bed used to have a dent from collapsed springs, their Sultan Hallen is a dream come true. Memory foam wrapped springs so you get the best of both worlds. I can toss and turn about and not disturb my SO from my thrashing about. They have all of their mattresses in store so you can try them out. And have Sweedish meatballs for lunch. Win win!

Recently bought a Sleep Number bed, mostly for the 25-year warranty. Wouldn't recommend; my wife hates it and the adjustable pressure is sort of gimicky. But due to all my online pre-purchase research, I'm now getting a ton of targeted ads for Casper, which looks sort of intriguing. 100 day money back returns makes it sound like they have a legitimately good product. Not affiliated! Casper.com

If you have deep pockets, Urban Mattress in Vienna was pretty awesome. Friendly customer service, they don't try to upsell you, and they don't have that weird used car dealership experience you get just about everywhere else. We ultimately bought at IKEA because by "deep pockets" I mean their cheapest mattress was like $1500, but they're good folks.

You might want to check out some of the 'new' mattress companies like Tuft and Needle or Casper - they have pretty good reviews, and I believe something like a 90-day trial where they'll pay for shipping back if you don't like it. Also I've had good luck with Costco (where I got mine) - they also have free returns if you don't like it, and you don't have to deal with mattress salespeople.

The prices mean absolutely nothing, and they'll make up whatever deal it takes to keep you in the store. I think a decent queen will cost you several hundred dollars. By all means comparison shop - you want to make sure the mattress is your fit, but as others have mentioned, the amount of markup involved means that they can lower the prices/make up a "special sale", whatever.

Local high schools usually sell mattresses once school comes around

If you have any interest at all in memory foam, I recommend getting one at Costco. They come in a box and you just roll it right out of the store. Super convenient!

The Healthy Back Store and their proprietary mattresses. Material / technology similar to Tempur-Pedic and the price is the price. There is no haggling. Depending on the size (king, queen, etc) it could range from $1000 - $3000 as opposed to Tempur-Pedic which does have a negotiable mark-up and can range from $1000 - $8000.

IKEA. They aren't super expensive and they are very comfortable. Delivery is really cheap if you need it, plus they'll haul away your old mattress as well. They also have a 25 year warranty on all of the mattresses which is nice.
