Keen to see what responses you get. I’d like to start, too, but was a bit overwhelmed with info when I googled it.

Depends where you live. There are HEAPS of Yoga places. In Newy CBD east end there's Yoga Loft, which is supposedly a popular spot. They have an unlimited month-long pass for their 'Greenie' (AKA, beginners) yoga classes. Urth Fitness is a full proper gym, but they have both Vinyasa (flow) and Yin (long, relaxing, slow stretch) classes morning and evening almost every day.

I really love Twine in Adamstown. It's a bit more expensive, but the studio is really nice, has smaller class sizes, and the teachers walk around and instruct you on form.

For a total, maybe nervous beginner, I would recommend Earthie Yoga in Mayfield (payment by donation, small classes with beginner friendly instructors, and out of the cbd, next to a good cafe) It's really small and friendly, they can give you personalised attention and it's a great place to dip your toe in the ocean of yoga available. In Newcastle CBD area, I would also highly recommend Ashtanga Yoga Newcastle (they have both led classes and self-led practices) - this is a great place if you are interested in learning from scratch and getting really great support to learn a more traditional style. They LOVE beginners here because they can teach you everything the way you're really supposed to learn it. There are HEAPS of other places in Newcastle CBD so I can really only speak from my experiences. From that I would only rec Yoga for All out of the others available, they offer a lot of different fairly good classes (beginner friendly) only downsize is that the classes can be a bit crowded and busy and thus sometimes scary if you're new. All of these places have websites! Don't be embarrassed! Being a beginner is the most fun time:)

Hamilton yoga just started a 10 week absolute beginners course this week. $190 and you can go to as many sessions a week as you want and there’s 8 different times in the timetable I think. I’ve been twice and it’s great. It’s iyengar yoga.

Planet Fitness in New Lambton offers yoga 4 days a week and yogalates once a week. I got my membership when it was on sale and only pay $14 f/n for the premium (not sure what it is now). Glenn and Britannia are both excellent teachers, and Britannia also teaches at [https://www.donationyoga.com.au](Pachamama Yoga) which is by donation. If you're not busy tomorrow at 6:30 you are more than welcome to join me as my guest.
Can anybody recommend a yoga instructor that will come to your home? Thanks.
