You can find a great selection of vegan food at a great price at Health Trail Natural Foods at 10848 Warwick Blvd, Newport News. While you are there, stop by Sweet Tooth Bakeshop in the store for delicious vegan gluten-free treats!

$10,000,000,000,000 - Newport News, Virginia
Is there a good place out here or not far where I can get deer or rabbit or both
Nic H. replied:

Hey guys, just wanted to introduce myself to the group and ask a few questions. I've been vegan for over a year and I just moved here about a week ago from Florida, and...
Odessa D. replied:
Kroger and farm fresh usually have stuff. Also, if you're in Chesapeake, you gotta try https://www.facebook.com/195523253982889 Burrito Perdido! They've got vegan chimichangas
Jean M. replied:
Kroger is a great and affordable grocery store with lots of vegan items! Of course there is Whole Foods as well.
Jenna W. replied:
The Walmart Supercenters have a good selection of Gardein for $3.97. There is one Whole Foods and one Trader Joe’s in Virginia Beach and they are conveniently across the street from each other. Aldi is everywhere. There is a Lidl in Norfolk, not sure where new ones popped up. Organic Food Depot has a good selection of vegan things. You can special order things by the case for a nice discount.
Mandee F. replied:
Harris Teeter is my favorite place to grocery shop! Walmart also has a decent selection of Gardein and Morningstar Farm
Phoebe S. replied:
Depends on where you live. Newport News doesn’t have many restaurant options other than chains. Norfolk and Virginia Beach are the places to go for restaurants. Try Happy Cow!
Jeremiah B. replied:
Newport News does have a TJ's and a whole foods as well as a fresh market, Other than that if you want to eat out Norfolk and VA beach are the places to go, To name a few off the top of my head, Kotobuki in norfolk Kahiau in VA beach Sugar Shack has vegan donuts that are in the style of crispy kreme

The Food Lion on oyster point is the best one
Abigail P. replied:
Trader Joe's, Aldi, Whole Foods for a few things that I can't get anywhere else, and sometimes Walmart
Sasha N. replied:
Fresh Market is great but pricey. Kroger is good and surprisingly the neighborhood market Walmart by harpersville is decent. Games farmers market for meat if you buy a decent amount.

Bought all this from Kroger for $100. It would have been wayyy less than $100 if I didn't buy spices that cost like $6 each
Jodi B. replied:
LIDL and ALDI
Annie C. replied:
Go to Heritage Health Food store for spices!! They sell them in bulk, so you pay per oz. It's way cheaper! I store the spices i use often in old jelly jars. And the spices I use less of, i just refill the old spice jars i already had. You can bring in your own containers to fill... Just have them weigh them before scooping spices into them.
Angelita B. replied:
I buy my spices at Aldi or ones I hardly use from bulk section at Whole Foods. Veggies I definitely stock up at Aldi and freeze what I don’t use (including avocado! I open them, purée, add a bit of lemon juice, and freeze in my silicone freezer molds)
Carolyn E. replied:
I failed to mention my favorite place to get spices, which are incidentally well-priced, especially if you watch for sales and freebies on their Facebook page, Penzeys.com .... And when you order from there, don't forget to pick yourself up some Penzeys pepper and sandwich sprinkle so that your life will be awesome like mine is

Hailee W. replied:
Kroger Marketplace in Portsmouth is great!
Onnie P. replied:
I'd go from Lidl to Kroger Market Place on College Drive. Also around the corner on route 17 is an Aldi more great cheap produce options. Between the three they have affordable organic vegan options. From Kroger Marketplace to Lidl then ALDI via Bridge Rd https://goo.gl/maps/iMuKAiGzRF42
