You have two options, a legal repeater (it must be approved or else you can be fined up to $250,000) or a phone/modem with an external antenna. Repeaters are quite expensive because the re-transmit the cell signal like a mini cell tower but can repeat for multiple devices. External antenna is much less expensive. There are lots of great playgroups around, unfortunately they ALL happen on Tuesday. One at the community centre in Nimbin, maybe twice a week, a great one out at Sphinx Rock Cafe, one at Tuntable preschool, (which also takes 2 yo's and is open tues/wed/thurs).

There is a playgroup at the Nimbin Family Centre (in the Community Centre) Tuesday and Friday 10 am to 1.30 pm where parents drop in with their children under school age. Morning tea provided for parents and children. I have been volunteering there. Everybody coming there loves it and it seems to be a place where many friendships are made for those new to the area.
