We have a Mom asking, "I'm looking for a pediatrician in the Norman/Moore area who will be a little more crunchy! I would like to be supported in breastfeeding up to two...
Tosha P. replied:
Dr Zukas in Norman is awesome! (772-8657 but they're closed this week until Thurs) He's supportive of bf & has even recommended EO's & natural remedies (coconut oil for a rash) for treatment before drugs on several occasions. When we brought our daughter in for her first appt he asked if we were going to vaccinate & when we said we were still researching & deciding but were confused about what some of them were he said that's understandable & that he was ok with whatever we chose & gave us a schedule that told what vaccines were due & when & another list of what all the vaccine abbreviations stand for & told us to research & decide & let him know at our next appt if we were wanting to do no vax, delayed vax, or partial vax & whatever we decided is what he'd do & if we have any questions about any of it to just call him.
Katie W. replied:
I will tell you NOT to go to Victor Wilson. While he is educated about breastfeeding and intact boys, he is stringently pro- vaccine. After telling me I was stupid and he knew more than me, He yelled me out of his office at my daughter's nine month visit, saying I was going to kill her (I had only decided to delay a bit). It was horrible. We are now with Dr Julie Morrow at Saints. It's a drive, but so worth it. She is wonderful and won't try to force anything on you.
Jenifer J. replied:
Dr. Roger Thompson at Saints is really good! Hasn't questioned my choice for non/delayed vax. And is totally supportive of bf. Also doesn't push antibiotics for every little thing.
Danielle T. replied:
Dr. Donna Johnson (crystal park pediatrics) off south walker
Tabby T. replied:
If you don't mind steering away from Norman/moore area. We have a wonderful Dr. who is opened minded about it all! She talked about the pros and cons of any question you may have. She also is ALL bf kids! She also is fine with BF after the age of 1 as I did with mine and she said that's fine when ever I am ready or he is! Her name is Dr. Lindenau.. She is out in northern okc off northwest expressway! She is BEYOND amazing! We travel from Moore to her and my kids have seen her sense my oldest was born in 09! If you google her it will say she is out of Yukon but she has moved offices within the last 3 months so if you would like her info just Pm!!
Lorraine N. replied:
Dr. Adrienne Kesinger Integris Family Care South. She is pro - breastfeeding, baby led weaning, vaccination discussions, she cloth diapered her daughter who is still young. She has never once questioned my crunchier ways, she will give advice. In fact, we don't do cereal.. so she went into detail about why cereal is pushed and what the alternatives are, like meat instead for the iron and zinc.
Clint B. replied:
Bob Zukas is in Brookhaven in Norman. He is with Saints. I've had discussions with him out of the office. Getting ready to make our appointments!!
So does anyone know of good pediatricians? my daughters just isn't cutting it. She's had the pooping prob. For a long time now and her dr. doesn't really seem to think...
Sandra S. replied:
Dr. Fox from Fox and Fields is Caleb's doc and she is wonderful. She was very proactive with all his medical issues in the past. Dr. Fields ( same office) is my nephew's doc and my sister swears by him. I think if you get either one of them, you will be in good hands:)
Needs opinions! A good pediatrician in the Moore/Norman (preferably Moore) area? BlueCross BlueShields insurance. Thanks!
Tyann L. replied:

Rheana B. replied:
I second with Drs. Fox and Fields! Raylee and Jag both see Dr. Fields and he really listens to your concerns.. His nurses are so sweet too!! His PA is awesome too! They are located right in front of Norman Regional.
Jennifer M. replied:
Donna Cosby is really good too. She has an office on 89 th and in Mustang. She is definelty worth the drive
Jennifer D. replied:
We use Dr. Kristen Earley at Moore Medical Center. She's a DO...not a pediatrician but is very nice, easy to get in and see and has two girls of her own. Her husband also practices with her. We actually all see her and have never had a problem.
Okay OKC and surrounding area mommies, I need to find a new pediatrician. Preferably one who is delayed vax and breastfeeding friendly. At this point I would pay out of...
NateandMiranda H. replied:
Dr. Stecklow is great. He does encourage vax but he would never make u feel bad for delaying or any other choice u make.
Shaelyn M. replied:
Leah Wade, check out the "WHO chart."
Kyla T. replied:
My son sees Dr. Fricker in Edmond. Jackson has always been small, but he's never pushed formula on me.
Madeleine B. replied:
Dr. Stecklow was okay with Chloee being a wee little babe right, NateandMiranda?
