I'm looking to adopt a dog and all the adoption agencies want to know the Veterinarian we'll be using. So I'm looking for recommendations for a good and fair priced Vet...

First of all, congrats on looking to adopt! The Animal Haven on Mill Road is fantastic as well is Thank Dog Rescue out of Newtown are fantastic places to adopt. We take our pups to see Dr. Stewart at Mount Carmel Vet on Whitney Ave. in Hamden. I don't find them to be salesman and she's been incredibly helpful in answering my questions and even calling me back to answer questions. I feel like she really cares about my dogs too! I can't say enough good things about her!

Ridgehill is the best! Have had major issues with Dr. Brue's treatment of one my dogs. The staff and doctors at Ridgehill are caring, kind & thorough...they came to my car to administer a shot to my dog when they knew he was having trouble walking!

North Haven Animal Hospital is wonderful. We have had nothing but good experiences there so far. I've also used Ridgehill and was very happy there also.

I found North Haven Animal Hospital to have been over willing to put my dog down when they found I didn't have the money for treatment. Another time they said my cat would die without this certain operation. I opted out and the cat lived another 6 healthy happy years....

Dr. Wray or Dr. Yarrow at Mill Pond Veterinary Hospital - it's 229 East Main Street in Branford. I used to work there and those vets are wonderful, very on top of it, and knowledgeable. Dr. Yarrow owns the practice and she saved my dog's tail when my dog got attacked last year.
