Check out some other YMCAs like becket-chimney corners and camp mason. Camp walt whitman also has a rustic feel. Iroquois Springs mentioned is great. Work for American Camp association so happy to help if you want to email at jess@aca-nynj.org. We help parents find right camp-free service.

Camp Gorham or Camp Cory... These are my at Camps and I'm slightly biased.. Gorham has a growing NYC/LI population and is geared toward 6 weeks with a minimum of 2 in the Adirondack forest with n in believable setting... Far away but well worth it will post about Camp Cory next
