Katie R. replied:
Dr. Amit Vora. I've driven from Lafayette, Indiana to see him for the past year. Recently moving just north of Knoxville. I had Thyroid cancer and my surgery was at Northwestern in Chicago. My cousin from Lafollette also has had Thyroid cancer. She couldn't say enough good things about him. After not being able to get an endocrinologist to get my Synthroid right for 3 years. I started going to Dr. Vora. He's awesome! He not only looks at your labs, but he listens to you and how you're feeling. Now my meds are almost on point and I feel so much better!
Vicky L. replied:
Dr Vora for sure
Christine B. replied:
Dr. Law
Amy S. replied:
Dr. Vora is only good if he knows what is wrong with you. If after testing, he can't figure it out then he will release you and tell you that there is no reason to come back. Then, you can't get in with anyone in that practice.

I always went to Dr. Pattni at Family Medical Clinic in Oak Ridge when I had UHC. She is unique in that she will try to help you with home remedies before she will try to over medicate for anything. She also genuinely cares about her patients and has great bed side manner.
Dr. Pattni at Family Clinic of O.R. was my doctor for over 8 years. Very caring and I loved her nurse! I had to leave and find a new doctor in Knoxville because the clinic didn't take Champus (military) which I now need. She's very nice. I like that the clinic is open later hours than some others, have a few Saturday morning appointments and there are enough doctors that they can almost always get you in the day you call. I liked a few other doctors there even better than her, but they probably can't accept new patients. Good luck!!!!
Gwen C. replied:

Does anyone know where I can have a breast exam done that won't charge me a arm and a leg?? I have found something and it's scaring me and need to have it checked??
Alma W. replied:
Anderson County health department. Call asap.
Shirley E. replied:
Call the UT at 865-305-9069. I recently had one at their mobile bus they had in Harriman one day but they go all over & you can call for schedule. Will do cheap, sometimes even free depending on your income, situation, etc.
Check out Parkwest cancer breast Center they are the ones my wife went to and discovered that she had cancer. The one's in Roane County just brushed it off and then one year later they found off that she had it for the last year Thank God that it was the slow kind or she wouldn't be here. She also had two kinds of cancer one was DCIS and invasive ductal carcinoma is what the second one was called she has had 9 surgeries and 35 rounds of radiation. It had gotten in her chest wall it was on her right side so she opted for a double mastectomy and right now she is cancer free. Praise God!!! Dr Gharavi is her cancer Doctor Timmy Wilson is the plastic surgeon and I'm a man and he is the absolutely the best I'm perfectly satisfied what a great job he has done ! Doctor Myers at Thompson Cancer Survival Center is also the very best. I'm not trying to scare you but people please if you suspect anything please have it checked fast it could save your life.
I was wondering if anyone knows anything about the free clinic in Oak Ridge I have a friend that needs to see a Doctor but has no insurance or job if anyone knows...
Kayla B. replied:
Cathy Thompson, let us know how it turns out! There are also several prescription programs that will help with the cost of medication. The health dept has cards that take a percentage off the cost. When she goes she should ask the clinic if they know of any more programs that will help. They usually have that type of info. Good luck to her!
Rene J. replied:
I've been a patient there for about 3 yrs now. Call 865-483-3904 and they'll tell you what you need to do to become a patient. It takes a little bit to get everything approved and see a doctor. Their are two nurse practitioners and volunteer doctors.
