Soumya Rao I used japanese futon mattress bought from a bay area store which I liked. I can't vouch for the one being sold in amazon. I had the same problem. I finally came across this https://www.amazon.com/dp/B009EEMH3Q/ This is similar to cotton mattresses that we get in India. It's thinner than usual mattresses and firmer.
