Pro tip: John Adams trusts his tuxes to Virginia Cleaners (?) on Shattuck in the gourmet ghetto. Check them out if you can't find anything in Oakland!

French Cleaners on Claremont is terrific. I found them at the suggestion of Sue Hone after I became completely frustrated with Virginia, and went there until I left SF 3 years ago. They also did very good alterations at reasonable prices. In addition, they are right up the block from Star Market, which has an amazing cheese department! Seriously, give French Cleaners a go.

Piedmont Sunny Cleaners, has a lot, almost at corner of Piedmont Ave and Pleasant Valley. Prices surely rather piedmontesque but impeccable service, I take Armani and Burberry there and sleep well at night wink emoticon

I use French cleaners in Claremont Avenue in Rockridge. 85% of my clothes are 100% silk. They are yet to ruin one piece of clothing and they all come out beautifully cleaned.
