Geesh Kim.. You need a Man to do that. Buy a Roto-Swirl water heater. They have a coiled input so when you use the water, it swirls up the sediment, and puts it thru your tap. Less chance of buildup on the bottom of the tank, hence the tank last's longer. I replaced mine, only took me (schmuck) a couple hours to plumb and wire it in.. Real easy. $1 k sounds like a lot. I paid $80 for my heater, only 6 mths old. (lucked out).
