There's a local guy named Ryan Hauf who has set up his own wifi network here in Ojai. It's has been great for us, only has been down a couple of times (bad weather in the canyon!) in a year. I don't know what his rates are...you may be able to negotiate something (?), he sometimes runs a "special" Phone # (805) 746-2232 or email Rhauf1@aol.com
Where, oh where, can I get good Internet service to my house at a reasonable price? Please help, I'm going out of my mind.
Theresa S. replied:
I have not problems with my dsl, just with the high cost of phone service. Contemplating Skype seriously now that I have my new computer. I hear that is less expensive.

get basic internet - buy a Roku box to replace cable (one time $95 purchase approx at Costco) - if you buy Netflix and Hulu Plus you get tons of TV shows and Movies - about $16 a month total. then get an Ooma Box for phone - again at Costco for about $115 - once you have the box all you pay for is Telecom Taxes on the calls - runs less than $5 per month and it covers unlimited calls to north america with ridiculously low international rates if you need them. Can't help you with Cell except to say that if you have a current carrier, tell them you're serious about leaving and ask if they have a Loyalty program.
Need an oak view internet service not AT&T please anyone have a clue for me :)

I believe there is only Time Warner or AT&T in the area. At least that's what they told me when I was inquiring awhile back about internet providers. I live in MO. Hate AT&T so I have TW and I love it!
I have Time Warner Cable for internet service & phone, we don't have or want cable. The cost of keeps going up and is now $103 per month. Anyone have any suggestions for...

Direct Tv is way cheaper, I left TW because of high cost.
Question please: our household is trying to reduce our crazy bundled ISP/TV/phone bill. Anyone out there able to recommend from personal experience a resource or...

We have Direct Tv, magic knack for home phone, time warner for Internet. If you enjoy watching regular TV, then don't go with Roku, or something similar. I have them, you don't get local regular TV. Our internet is the most expensive item on this list, sadly there is no other internet providers. Magic Jack is super cheap!!!
I have Att internet service that was Direct TV. My service is slow, sluggish and sometimes not working. Anyone else having this issue here in Ojai? Any good service...
