What makes a gym family friendly? Genuine question. Is it childcare on site or something else? I have heard the 24 Hour Fitness has kind of sucked since Genesis took it over but that they have pumped a ton of money in to it for improvements. Perhaps someone can speak to that (I haven't been to that location in years but liked it fine back then.

Have you looked in to City Gym? I think it might be closer to $110/month for a couple, but if you're in Waldo it would be close and possibly worth a few extra bucks per month.

I live in Waldo. And I'm a member of the Prairie Village YMCA, on 79 th St. It's not quite walkable, but it's only a about 10 minute drive. Very family friendly. I only go there to use the gym. But they have a pool and a youth swimming program. And other things, I guess. The people who run it are very friendly.

The Cleaver YMCA is patroned by tons of families I know in Waldo, Brookside and Midtown!

24 Hour fitness is as close as you’ll get to a “health club” in the Waldo area. Next closest would be Woodside, which is closer to $150-160/mo. There aren’t many large places in this area.

Definitely check out Genesis (formerly 24 hour fitness) over at Ward Parkway Mall. Huge, newly renovated, awesome locker rooms, towel service, TONS of classes. My husband and i joined with a kids club membership for our littler for a total of $60/month. That was when they had a special going on not too long ago, but I'd be surprised if it were more than $100/month.

check out the Cleaver Family ymca. It's great, very family friendly. It has a community center vibe. Please give it a chance, yes it's on troost but its a great facility.
