Psychotherapy recommendations! I’m looking for a psychotherapist who’s trauma familiar.
I’ve been to a few therapists the past year and haven’t been able to...

Psychology today has a therapist finder. The individuals are listed based on their specialities: https://www.psychologytoday.com/ca/therapists Edit: I see further down the thread that you've been there already... Keep at it, someone will respond!

I have had an outstanding experience at Broadleaf Health. I see Dr. Ekblad, I'm not sure if he or anybody there would fit your particular needs but I wanted to make sure to recommend the practice as a whole. Good luck!

Ask your family doctor if you have one. They should be able to recommend someone.

This might be a useful organization to contact. It was recommended to me by a friend who is very familiar with this space. [https://healingrefuge.com/programs/client-services/#trauma-therapy](https://healingrefuge.com/programs/client-services/#trauma-therapy) It's wonderful that you're seeking help - you matter and deserve to be supported.

Saw your post a couple of days ago and meant to respond! I would recommend that you check out/talk to [Valerie Copping](https://theittm.com/), she has a pretty interesting approach to trauma treatment that focuses on treating it across different generations. So basically looking at your trauma, as well as the trauma your parents/caregivers have passed onto you, if you're an adult. I'm not sure if she's taking on new clients, but she could probably recommend someone who trained in her model too.
Our Provincial Government should be ashamed of its self AGAIN. I just got a message from a mother of a 4 year old boy with autism, that feels she cannot wait any longer...

Sadly Dennis...this is the reality in this province. Many many families are doing this. This is exactly what some of the law suits were about!!! I spent the last year doing this. I lost my ITs in September and will have to build a new team for Lauren's IBI and I will have to pay for this out of pocket!! Lauren should NEVER been cut off her IBI in 2009, she needs it. Documents prove she needs it, however in order to reduce the waitlist and in order to cycle the kids thru every 2 years she was cut~~~ The Ministry turned a blind eye to it.. even thou they were using benchmarks to cut her off!!!

Dennis: Have your contact look at the ABAcus list: http://www.abacuslist.ca/client/aso/ABA.nsf/ProviderRegionCentralEast?OpenView&r=Central%20East#simcoe In Barrie, start with Achimota, the oldest and best, but hard to get a space. I've heard good things about Bridges as well. Leaps and Bounds also serves that area, right up to Orillia.
Karen L. replied:
No but I believe I found IBI therapy that will oversee at home and school/all services he has. I have to figure it all out and apply for funding and hopefully things will work out. I had a GOOD feeling about the interview that I did tonight, not because Im desperate for service but a good feeling that my son is going to get the best service available. They don't even charge for travel no matter where the provider is coming from. WISH ME LUCK!
Dennis L. replied:
Paul Ceretti she will see your post and I am sure hse will contact you. Thank you for the interest.

Not sure where you are but contact Mirkka at Mindful Behaviours in Milton. They also have a training center in Toronto. They do reactive dog classes.
Evelyn C. replied:
So sorry to hear what happened to Myles. My personal opinion is that ALL of the above suggestions have a lot of merit. I would be inclined to start with back to basics in combination with Dr. Bach remedies. Of course only positive training. Hope he has not changed his attitude with his big sister!
