Alice Conway, WordPress is very good eCommerce platform, without any ongoing fees, unlike the 'other' companies, such as Shopify, Wix, Weebly, etc. More than 50% of all sites that use a content management system, in the top million sites by traffic, are powered by WordPress. But, since it is not making money through installations, the creators of WordPress as not advertising it in the same aggressive manner as some of the other content system. Yet... sixty million websites cannot be wrong, right? Jokes apart, with the right add-ons, i.e., themes and plugins, WordPress can be a robust ecommerce platform. I would recommend finding someone on odesk.com as opposed to Fiver, and get them to set you up with a self hosted wordpress blog.
