Need recommendations for optometrist Can someone recommend me a good optometrist to get my eyes checked out and new glasses made? Preferably around Overland Park/...

If you're not needing anything more than a checkup and prescription, and you're willing to make a fairly short drive, I would recommend America's Best in Westport. Basically $280 gets you 3 years of checkups and you only then pay for lenses and glasses. Good stuff.

I love Drs. Crandon in Lawrence. Crandon & Crandon have probably given me the most in-depth, knowledge and helpful advice for contact/glasses that I've ever received.

[Littlefield Eye Associates in Waldo](http://www.icanseekc.com/) Dr. Grimes is amazing, and has saved my vision on several occasions.

I followed mine from Town Center Plaza out to Gardner. His name is Whitesell. Love him.

I've used Grin Eye care in Olathe since i was a kid. They have done LASIK on my entire family. Its usually a long wait to see Milton Grin, but Dr. Mcquigg is another good one in that practice.

I found Dr. Holly McLain. She's attached to the Target near 119 th and Metcalf (12200 Blue Valley Pkwy, Overland Park, KS). 913-498-8690 When I saw her I told her my contacts were hurting my eyes. I started a new job where I look at a computer for 8+ hours/day. She was great. She gave me several brands of contacts to try. After I found contacts that worked we tried several different solutions. I don't know if she takes VSP insurance, but it's worth calling and asking.

Dr. Brenda Edwards. Heart of America Eyecare, she's my step mom and you'd be doing my family a big favor.

I just go to the eye center at Walmart. Have for 16 years. Not sure about insurance (mine doesn't cover eyes so I pay in full - $90 for contact prescription check), but I can always get an appointment really fast. I've also only gotten glasses from them and never had any problems. Only takes a few days.
Anyone have any good recommendations for an ophthalmologist (NOT an optometrist) in the Overland Park area? I'm kind of tired of mine!

Dr. Hemphill - his wife Mary Hemphill is my optometrist. She's awesome. I'd go to her husband if I needed an opthamologist. Sorry don't know his first name. I think he's in Olathe.

Dr. Thomas Duckett. At 121St and Metcalf behind the old Southglen theaters.

Dr. Thomas Duckett retired at the end of July. Cokington bought out the practice apparently - Dr. Pool was all right.
