Overlook Medical Center in Summit specializes in the highest level neurology cases (Brain cancers; Brain injury; Movement Disorders; etc). Their Neurologic ICU is one of the highest ranked in the tri-state area. That being said, my recommendation is to go to their webpage, and choose a neurologist from there. A facility of that level attracts neurologists that are at the top in their field.
Can anyone recommend an amazing neurologist. I have been hospitalized 2x in the past week for my migraines. I have had them since I was 11 and they are getting...
Lisa A. replied:
Oh no. That's awful. Have you considered a food intolerance? I'm a Registered Dietitian and I have seen that sometimes they can be caused by food triggers. Some of the most common ones are artificial colors, preservatives (sodium benzoate is a biggie), gluten, cocoa. There are so many possibilities but those are some of the big ones. Please feel free to email me at foodhelp@optonline.net if you have any questions or want to discuss the possibility of a food intolerance further.

Please feel free to PM if you have other questions.

Recommendations for a Pediatric Neuropsychologist or Neurologist? TIA
Dawn C. replied:
Hi.... We have been using dr Shannon Babineau (at Goryebs Children's Hospital in Morris Plains ) since January. My son suffers from chronic migraines/daily head pain. We have found her to be knowledgable, understanding & realistic. She is very patient with our questions & her explanations. Staff is friendly...easy drive/located right off rt 287... Any time I've reached out to them she's responded & within a reasonable amount of time.
Does anyone have recommendations for neurologists in the area that special in seizures? TIA!
Melissa C. replied:
My son has epilepsy and we go to Dr. Ghacibeh and Connors. They are both very good with kids and very personable. They explain everything very thoroughly and do not rush you. They are also very supportive of you being involved in making decisions.
