Medicaid services usually cover some types of home health therapies and caregiving. What kind of insurance is available? If they don't have Medicaid, I would encourage them to look into applying.

Tuline B. replied:
Oh yes- there are certainly some resources to support her. Often Medicaid will cover some home health services. My family has been working with a home care provider up in napa for many many years. Sequoia Senior Services. I can also reach out to colleagues at Contra Costa Health Services if that would be helpful?
Tuline B. replied:
I don't have any direct contacts with CCC Health Dept that provide elder services, but I do know people in other depts that may have some suggestions. I would also recommend that the family look into the County website- Senior Services-or- Social Services.
Caroline B. replied:
Try Comfort Keepers. They're located all over the country and they're fairly inexpensive. Most likely the state won't help with the cost. It's a problem that a lot of my patients run into
Alexandra M. replied:
Is she getting paid as a PCA? Where I work (granted it's in MA), if I had a patient who required more PCA hours I would request a re-evaluation for PCA services, citing change/decline in condition, and with that independent evaluation in hand I could then as her provider authorize an increase in PCA support. Who has guardianship (assuming it's no longer grandma at this point)?
Can anyone refer a good N.D. (Naturopath/holistic doctor) to me? I've found a bunch in SR but am having a hard time finding reviews on any of them. Thank you!

Anyone know a good Naturopathic Physician in Marin or Sonoma County?
Rachel R. replied:
Check out dr. Todd Maderis in Marin, or dr. Ahvie Herskowitz in San Francisco.
Robert S. replied:
here's my good friend ... Dr. Beverly Yates - Marin - served as the lead supervising doctor for the first ever fully accredited Naturopathic and Integrative medical residency in the state of California. She is a governor appointee to California’s Naturopathic Medicine Committee. Dr. Yates serves as a National Media Representative for the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians, and a super great person.

Dr. White he is great
Stephanie G. replied:
Dr. Gonzales. I know the name doesn't sound like it, but English is his first language. He was awesome, I could just send him an email and he would respond, or get me a prescription so I didn't have to come in for little things (UTI, etc). Fun guy!
