Who is a good reasonable vet in the Columbus area? — looking for recommendations.
Susanne L. replied:
It depends. If you need basic things done like vaccinations...heartworm test...all Vets are good. If it comes to surgery, the only Vet I trust is Dr. Lefranc at 2 nd Ave Animal hospital. I use him since years and they are very experienced.

ISO a good, inexpensive vet in either Columbus, Phenix City, Smiths Station, or Opelika. Please provide name, location, and price range. Thanks!
Bonnie N. replied:
I have really good experience with Columbus Vet hospital. Their prices are fair. They love their fur patience. And for me they are right around the corner. Please stay away from gateway vet place. Terrible bedside manner! Over medicate animals and pricey!
Leslie H. replied:
Dr. Perrella on Schomburg. The best. Hands down. Super caring. Most of their prices are competitive with one another.

Is there a vet in the Columbus area that does OFA hips?
Richard V. replied:
My vet on Schomburg Rd Dr Perella just did excellent Ofa hips on one of mine. She used to take care if a Dane show breeders dogs as well until that breeder moved out if the area and they had beautiful ear crops. There is also a board certified orthopedic vet at Animal General Hospital who is still on the faculty at Auburn
Mary L. replied:
Trish, indeed there are! Several I called did not know what OFA is, and a few told me they were not "OFA certified."?? Double Churches probably does the best job of anyone in town I have tried. They are a bit more expensive though. I have had to redo twice at one vet's office, and the last time he did not even put the name/registration info on the film!
Looking for recommendations on where to take my dogs to get fixed. I have two so I'm hoping to find somewhere relatively cheap. (we do have a vet I'm just trying to see...
