hello there everyone! my partner and I are new kitten parents. we have both tried searching for reviews online on veterinarians in the area and haven't been able to find...
Anna M. replied:
Dr. Laporte at Berkshire Vet on crane ave is wonderful
Anne G. replied:
You're going to get LOTS of different responses here. Everyone thinks their vet is the best. Myself included. I LOVE Berkshire veterinary hospital on crane ave. I've used them for 30 years. I've tried other vets just because they were closer to where I lived at the time. I can tell you, I hated Dr. Beebe, I think he's a hack/quack. And the one on West Housatonic Street is overpriced and did a lousy exam. I've also used Greylock Many years ago. They were ok. But I've always gone back to Berkshire Vet. They are outstanding.
Lisa M. replied:
I absolutely love Dr. Ray at South St Vet. He is gentle, honest and truly cares about his clients.
Krista M. replied:
My GSD picked John Makuc@Berkshire Vet years ago.... Thorough, understanding, compassionate, knowledgeable, and always available.... We love him!
Anne G. replied:
Dr. Makuc is wonderful. Can't really go wrong with anyone at Berkshire Vet.
Elizabeth M. replied:
Location? Because you don't want to drive too far for a vet visit. I like and recommend Greylock Animal Clinic, but even I know they are expensive...although I do believe you get what you pay for. They give you a "new kitten" packet too if it's your cat's first visit with them
Rebecca K. replied:
Allen heights Dr. Tullett
Lisa C. replied:
Berkshire Vet hands down...my mother used them, and they will go out of their way to make your pet feel better.
Denise C. replied:
Pittsfield Veterinary Hospital on West Housatonic St. Seven Veterinarians, open 7 days a week, 5 nights, see their own emergencies. digital radiographs, ultrasound, dentals, laser therapy. Super nice people and reasonable prices. 413-499-1580
Anyone know of a good decently priced vet? I wanna get my cats fixed and they need their shots
Allyson D. replied:
In conjunction with “Adopt a Shelter Dog Month” in October, BHS will begin accepting applications for spaying/neutering vouchers for 50 puppies and dogs at participating veterinarians. The fee is $50 with $25 being refunded after the surgery is completed. Registration for spaying/neutering cats will begin in December; the shelter anticipates being able to accommodate 100-125 cats. The fee is $25. Rabies vaccinations are also included. More information will be available on the BHS website – www.berkshirehumane.org. That came straight from their website
I just got a new fur baby! He's a 11 month old yellow lab and I need some vet recommendations. Also he needs to be neutered
Anne G. replied:
Berkshire Vet, hands down. I've used them for all of my adult life and my parents used them before that. I've strayed to others when I didn't live as close to Berkshire Vet, but was never satisfied with anyone else. I LOVE Berkshire Vet. 499-2820
Linda Y. replied:
I also use Berkshire Vet on Crane Ave. I like how they listen and not just ignore your questions. I bring all my dogs there.
Lindsey D. replied:
Dr. Looney is amazing
Lisa M. replied:
Dr. Ray South St. He is wonderful.
Catherine B. replied:
Dr. Ray or Dr. Darcy,South St.
Jackson B. replied:
Just remember Dr. Ray is super popular (with good reason!) So you may not get right in (especially for surgery). Worth the wait, but Dr. Gassman at South Street is awesome too!!!
Jay L. replied:
Pittsfield Vet Hospital is very good, a little pricey...Berkshire Vet on Crane Ave.. is good, and has someone there 24/7 and will call a vet in if necessary...
Jay L. replied:
Berkshire Vet also has scheduled evening and week-end appointments which can be a convience..:-)
Wanda I. replied:
Berkshire Vet on Crane. Been taking my yellow lab there since he was a pup.
Meghan G. replied:
Dr Ray at South Street Vet is just the nicest person ever. Love him!
Can someone please recommend a vet that will do a home visit to euthanize?
Paline K. replied:
Dr. Umlauf - Yes, she owns the Lenox Cat Hospital, but does do house calls for dogs. Dr. Blanchard from Bilmar Small Animal Clinic does house calls, too; or at least used to.
Ok Pittsfield peeps. Need veterinarian recommendations. My online research seems to show they all charge about the same. $$$$$ SO miss our low cost clinics in Los...
Erin R. replied:
I use Berkshire Vet on Crane Ave. They are open 24/7 (higher fee if needed at night or after hours - but nice to know).
