The reason we try to encourage parents to stay in the waiting room during treatment is because the dental chair mimics a stage, Where the child can perform for the attentive parent. Not only that but children feed off their parents energy so if you're nervous, the child will be too. Understanding the reasons for the rules may help you feel more at ease. My office (Lindquist dental for children) allows parents to come back and watch if they are so inclined.

We've had a great experience over the years with Kitsap Kids Dentistry in Bremerton and have always been able to go back with our daughters.

Lisa Block is the best I have ever been too.

Dr. Costa here in port orchard. She is amazing and so is the staff with kids. They even let my 3 yr old sit on my lap while they did his cleaning. And when he had enough they stopped. Each time they have gotten a little further into the cleaning. Making him feel safe and in control. They also give tokens for a toy machine after. All 3 of my boys love them. And they have had to have fillings and extractions (getting ready for braces). Kept my kids calm and comfortable.

Not Dr Block she was really rough with my 3 kids and my 4 grandchildren... We didn't know for a long time... Because we were NOT allowed to go back with the kids... But once they were old enough to explain what was happening to them.... We quit going there...

Lindquist dental is good for pediatric dentistry. My daughter has been going there since her first tooth came in, and she is 4. I am still able to go back with her. There is a location in bremerton and gig harbor. Also, I like kitsap children's clinic for pediatrician.

My kids liked Karlie Gaskins on Mile Hill so much that they would rather go there than Kitsap Kids Dentistry (and if you have been there you know what a big deal there Ipads, treasure vending machines and movies in every room are!) Our previous dentist said my 5 year old had one, maybe two, cavities that needed filled right away. We took him to Karlie for a second opinion and she said there were no cavities, maybe a weak spot if anything that we could watch.

For a pediatrician I very highly recommend Dr Jenny Chow at Silverdale Women's and Childrens. She is just wonderful!

Pediatrics Northwest in Gig Harbor is a wonderful practice. We see Dr. Kregenow, but everyone we have seen there is great.

Dr Mike with dr Costa are great! They always let me go back or not with my kids. No issues at all. They are amazing!

My two oldest (8 & 5) and I go to Dr. Makadia at Healthy Teeth Dental. The work areas are open so I can see them any time I want. While they are working on me, the kids can play in the lobby & "check on" me as needed. They get tokens for the toy dispenser afterward. He is really good about explaining to kids about what he does & how to take care on their teeth.

Dr. Bock and Hutchinson are awesome! They are here in Port Orchard.

I take all three to Karlie Gaskins on MIle Hill in PO. She has kids the same age and is always great with them. I also really like her staff.

My daughter is 15 months old and only says momma and daddy and hi. I would be so pissed. I go see Matt Wilson in Gig Harbor at harbor pediatrics.

We go to Kitsap Childrens Clinic. Have been for 14 yrs. We have been very happy with them. They have offices in Port Orchard and Silverdale.

It's in Silverdale but I highly recommend Dr.Shaw she is amazing!

We have seen several doctors at Harbor Peds and they have all been great. I have micropreemie twins who are way far behind where they should be, but are still making progress. Not one of the docs is concerned. My kids are all tiny too, and they never push making them bigger just to meet the growth chart requirements. If your kiddo isn't around other kids much, he probably won't pick up those things as quickly as the doctor would like. Kids learn from other kids. That's the only reason my son was potty trained before 3. There's lots of groups and activities around if you want more kid exposure.:)

My oldest was almost 3 and my youngest was 3 1/2 when they were potty trained. You cant rush perfection. They have no developmental issues. This doc is stupid get a new one. We have seen Dr. Wu at grouphealth and Dr. Anderson at Peninsula.

That doctor seems to have really high expectations. It's completely normal to still be potty training at three (or to have just started). My son also didn't talk a lot at one. I asked our then-Doctor about it when he had his two year check up and she said to keep an eye on it, but if he started speaking more within six months we shouldn't worry about it. Anyway, we used to see Margaret Sandler (ARNP) at Port Orchard Medical Clinic. She was fine, but it became hard to get appointments. We switched to Dr. Chow at the Doctors Clinic in Silverdale and have been pleased with her.

If you have Group Health, Dr. Cain is really good. Love your name by the way (Jennies unite!). I have a toddler who just potty trained-3 is the average age.

Silverdale pediatrics.! Dr niran is amazing.! She's a mix of new and old medicine. She's never one to tell you how to parent. She will offer advice of warranted. But she soo sweet and my kids love her. I trust her whole heartedly

I totally echo anyone who recommended Harbor Peds in Gig Harbor. We have been going to them since we moved here and have seen all the Dr's in the practice (Dr. Brand is our primary and she is amazing). They all have been wonderful to work with everything from freezing off warts to failure to thrive to speech delays. They listen to you as a parent and respect your opinion even if it's different from their own. And they listen to your child and their concerns too.

My kids always liked Dr Seuss. They were a lil freaked about some of the characters who worked in his office though geez!

We used to go to Harbor Peds, but there was numerous issues. My kids are tall and skinny, yet starting at 9 months I was told to wean because they were low on the weight charts. My concerns about my son's lip and tongue ties were brushed off, but they wanted a blood draw from my daughter at every appointment. As charming as they were, I decided to switch when they argued that my July-born 18 month old was actually 17 months old, and would not schedule her appointment in January. So we switched to Kitsap Pediatric Clinic and Dr. Brown. In 1 1/2 years she's been fantastic. I only had a billing hiccup, but that was the ins' issue.

I had Dr. Cogley in PO but she wasn't listening to my concerns about my son. So I heard AMAZING things about Dr. Lavinder, so now she's my son's primary and she listens to every little thing that you have concerns about. Because of her, my son got the help he needed.

Tony Loftus at peninsula community health here in port orchard is the VERY best General Dr while he is not a pediartrician my kids see him they are 2, 12 and 16 older ones are boys and love him. He listens to you and engages with the kids, hands down the very best I have ever had I also have a 26 yo so seen lots of drs lol as well as I'm in the medical profession. Good luck

I've had a couple here in port orchard but I switched to Pediatrics NW in gig harbor and it was the best decision I could have made for my family. Everyone in the office is amazing!

I love Harbor Pediatrics (Dr. Brand), but we used to go to Leslie Brown and really, really liked her. (There was some issue with the clinic and our insurance in negotiating, so we had to make a switch at one point and just stayed in GH after that.) Lots of people love Pediatrics NW as well.

Yes, harbor peds, Dr. Brand is my absolute favorite there.

My boys see Dr. Hoisington at The Doctor's Clinic in Silverdale (they have an office here in Port Orchard, too). We've been very happy with the staff, doctors and nurses there. And they have their own urgent care for members only, which is a million times better than Harrison!

Dr. Shaw in silverdale is absolutely amazing... she was actually my husbands pediatrician, so pretty awesome she now gets to be his children's also! She is genuine and knows what she is doing! We love her!

Harbor Pediatrics all the way! I know it's a bit of a drive but every doctor there is fantastic. We've been seeing them for my daughter (5) and son (2.5) for about 4 years now.

We is Dr Hoisington in Silverdale. He is amazing. Very responsive to parental concern. (I mentioned my son seemed to show signs of autism and he happily wrote me a recommendation to UW saying "Moms know. If you think there's something then let's check it out."

I do want to add that ties are commonly missed by PEDs, specialists like LCs and Pediatric ENTs are usually the ones to catch them, from what I've read, just an honest suggestion, but maybe hang on to where you're at and see how it goes...Ask for a second opinion on things that concern you always and you aren't 100% on what you're told!! (The former cna in me always feels obligated to encourage that!)

My kids go to Harbor pediatrics and yes the above recommendations for Dr. Heron is amazing however I work in pediatrics and all the doctor does is the screening for autism and if there is any developmental milestones that they are not making then the kids get sent out to developmental center for testing so that makes sense it's not really the pediatricians Who would be doing the diagnosing

Strongly recommend Dr. Nathan Wall DC. He is genuine and is proactive on the bodies immune system not into prescription drugs.

I would recommend calling the customer service of your ins. to find out some providers in your network and find out if ABA therapy is a covered service. They might even have Case Management services to help you get set up. Most plans require preauth for it and you have to use their approved providers:)

Harbor Pediatrics in Gig Harbor has one or two drs with training emphasis on behavioral/psychological medicine and diagnosis.
