My PDX peeps! Who can recommend a great eye doctor? Preferably an MD - ophthalmologist as opposed to optometrist (though I'm open to those referrals, too). THX!
Not sure how far you want to travel or what you need a consult for, but I just had Lasik surgery by this doctor - an amazing, very full service clinic http://www.centerforsight.net/LASIK/LASIK-by-Lahners.cfm

I just went to Luna's eye doctor here in Multnomah Village. LOVED HIM! "Multnomah Vision Clinic."
Anton L. replied:
Dr. Grieve downtown has been great over the last 14 years helping me with some fairly serious eye issues.
Monica G. replied:
Dr. AAZY AABY absolutely...and yes, he is a DR too...my daughter has been with him since she was 3...and she's 12 now...he's a great Dr. He has 2 offices.
John R. replied:
Elizabeth Purvis, this is my DR in Vancouver. She also did the surgery on my cataracts last year. She is very sweet and cares a lot about her patients.
Christy A. replied:
I can but she's in Hillsboro! Baseline Vision Clinic. Dr Joan Ploem Miller. The best eye doctor I've ever gone to. Been seeing her now since 1995.
Looking for new optometrist with good glasses selection!

[Beaumont Vision](https://beaumontvision.com/) tolerated my indecisiveness very kindly when I was looking for new glasses.

Costco has Tom Ford and Gucci glasses

Beaverton Vision World has a great selection. I have gone there for more than 10 years, and always find frames that look good, and fit my large, round face.
Hardfoil replied:
Would not recommend Stanton Optical. Bought a pair of frames/lenses there after realizing that none of the other frames matched my head shape and told them up front it would be these or none. I was told they could \*definitely\* work with them, tried the frames on two weeks after the promised delivery date only to realize that they would never work. While they never denied me a refund outright, I stopped asking for one after calling or visiting them daily for two weeks.

Optix PDX on Mississippi. Great stuff; no brands owned by Luxotica.

I get all my glasses from Warby Parker.

Alberta Eye Care. Excellent selection and friendly staff

I like Eyes On Broadway. They have a nice selection and good optometrists.

Just went to spectacle up in NW, great selection. In honesty, went there as I was dead set on getting Fetch glasses. They’re a local company and all proceeds go to the pixie project. They are in a bunch of shops but spectacle was closest to my work. I really liked the optometrist though.
Looking for a good optometrist, recommendations? Hey Preddit. I need to get my eyes checked, since it's been like 5 years since my last exam. Any recommendations on...

I don't know what part of town you're in, but if you're on the Westside, I'd recommend Dr. Peek at [Raleigh Hills Vision](http://www.raleighhillsvision.com/). Very thorough exams, will answer questions. His office isn't the fanciest, nor is their frames selection super-expansive, but when he answered the phone on a weekend and offered to meet me at the office when I had an eye infection the same day as his wife's birthday, well that about sealed the deal for me.

Good optometrist: Karen Rice at Dever's Memorial Eye Clinic which is connected to Good Sam hospital. I have nothing but nice things to say about the clinic and her. Really nice and attentive optometrist. She was really good about explaining what she was going to do before she started poking at my eyeball. Although not much of a selection in frames. Terrible optometrist: Eyehealth Northwest on 19th and Northrup. Horrible customer service, bad communication, and a lousy optometrist that wouldn't answer my questions and treated me like dirt. Took almost 3 hours to get a simple prescription for contacts which they still manged to screw up. Waste of money and time. However they do have a good selection of frames... assuming they manage to put the right lens in your frames the first time.

Dr Summy To on N Williams. I followed her move from Belmont St because she's simply awesome. Head and shoulders above the 10 or so doctors I've seen in the last 20+ years. I got a friend of mine to go see her, and he was also amazed.

I had a spec of something in my eye that hurt and got seen nearly immediately at the Costco on 158 th. That apparently is a "medical" issue, but I then came back to get my eyes checked and it went well. The doctor I saw was a woman with a Dutch-sounding name.
Am sorry for asking so many questions but I need to find everything! I'm now looking for an optometrist to get an exam and new glasses. I've gone to Reynolds on...

I had a good experience at River City Eye Care located at Hollywood 4000 NE Sandy Blvd. I had to get both an eye exam and new glasses. Good and stylish selection and the gentleman who did my exam was very nice.

I really like Blink, too, but went to Alberta Eye Care since they take my insurance. Had a great experience. I have a complicated prescription and the doc worked with me to get it just right. Am very happy with both my glasses and contacts.
Kathy W. replied:
I've used Eye Health Northwest for a couple of years and like them. I was going to the Milwaukie branch and had a good experience there. There is a branch at Stark and 108 th but haven't been to that branch yet.

Not local-friendly, but after I get my eye exams, I sometimes buy glasses online for ridiculously cheap at http://www.zennioptical.com/ if money + need aren't matching up just right.

Costco. They have to provide exams to non members, but you’ll need a membership to purchase contacts or classes from them. I just take my prescription to 1-800-CONTACTS.
