Hate to go back to my health issues, but I really need to hear about specific experiences , recommendations, etc. regarding chiropractic , acupuncture, etc. If you do...

Wayne I have had wonderful experience with Chiropractors. I would never recommend modern medicine. Tina Degeorgio in VB is great. 498-3044
Nancy M. replied:
Wayne, I was told by Dr. Holmes, he does the 'hypnosis' that the VA in Richmond has procedures not available here, and, also that private doctors are doing a Bryan's procedure, that could be paid for if surgery is an option. There is nothing worse than nerve pain.

I had bad pain in my chest a few months after I had broken and dislocated 2 ribs, and then healed improperly. The chiropractor was able to put them back in place and treat my pain without drugs. They used cold laser therapy to help with pain and inflammation. I still go every one in a while to help with lower back pain. The one I go to is called Ocean Lightforce Chiropractic. They have an amethyst healing mat with far infrared and negative ions that helps relive tension and remove toxins. I would highly recommend their services to anyone dealing with chronic pain. Good luck and I hope you can feel well again soon.

Wayne, I once worked as a psychological assistant in a multi-disciplinary chronic pain management program at Akron General Hospital here in Ohio. Chronic pain is the pits and I believe a multi-disciplinary approach is the best way to proceed based upon that experience. I suggest you ask your doctor about such programs in Hampton Roads. They're bound to exist.

I do chiropractic every time I can squeeze it in. I should go 2 x a week with my current spine/hip problems, but that's neither budget nor schedule friendly. I do highly recommend Dr. Ellen on Colley ave. I did get accupuncture several years ago and I noticed a better 'flow' of energy in my body but no real 'pain relief' so to speak. I would encourage you to look into: http://foxhallwellness.com/index.php/home/8-foxhall-wellness-center My friends Ben and Angela run it and are amazing folks. Angela practices a form of energy work called Body Talk which I certainly couldn't explain well. HOWEVER I have been seeing her somewhat regularly for at least 5 years now and I've always noticed an improvement in my overall health (Mental and physical and emotional) as well as my weight control and my body health (hip/joint pain) I know those probably get added to your list of "things to review/discuss" but please be sure to add them. Angela's "magic" certainly has helped me be more-well over the course of the last few years which have been very hard on me. I recommend her highly. I can list my ailments here if you're interested. But the short version is: Years of being a tom boy screwed up my back. Getting dumped off horses screwed up my hips/pelvis/shoulders. Asthma makes excersize hard. So my body is not happy. Chiropractic helps. Regular massage therapy HELPS (and hurts. lol). Finding something physical to do that you enjoy (For me, riding horses) HELPS but is hard to get into the groove when pain lurks. But it HELPS both body and soul. I would go to Dr. Ellen for chiropractic. At least for a consult. Also look into energy-based wellness such as Body Talk (or others) which treat things that pills cannot. If you need more info, lemme know

Medical doctors are taught to treat symptoms. Chiropractors are trained to treat patients. See Doc Egan on Big Bethel Rd in Hampton.
Christopher Dawson. Great for long term issues you can't get resolved. Saw a Chiro for 15 years 1-2 a month. Saw him 5 times and have been great since!

Dr Ken George & Associates. Stratham, NH . If you like the snap and pop then He’s not for you. He does pin point release of muscles, and this helps the body to realign in a better way. I have had a great experience with him! Call and check them out. They’re worth it.
