I have Verison Jet Pack which works as long as there is a tower somewhere. I've taken it camping at Crested Butte CO and received service. It's cool because it is portable. The problem with it is rather than paying a flat rate for data, you buy a certain amount of data and if you run out it is costly. However verison does inform you and you can purchase more before you run out.

Mary, I'm in Ponderosa Park southwest of Prescott and we have 1.5 mbps Internet also. But our access has been out for 24 hours for the second or third time in as many months. I'm afraid the rains have affected the lines and CL may not repair as there aren't a large number of customers here. Cable One also serves the area but I don't want to switch.

Century Link plays shell games with how much they charge. Had to fight them about it and then get disconnected eventually. Never had to do that before. But I refused to pay them the extra. I also found that they would never even answer letters I was sending attempting to get them to act reasonably. Now I only expect to get form letters from them about the extra charges I always refused. They'll get nasty letters from me back and that's it. The extra being about 60% more than they had been charging. I would recommend never getting involved with them in the first place. God, it sure feels good to dump on those jerks! They deserve it for all the hassle they caused me. I went totally off the grid for a week over it, and a little for the disciplining experience of it.

I live up by Hassayampa Lake.... CableOne not available...was going to use Hughes but the reviews (like above) were horrible.....went with Exede Communications.... satellite...heavy user so on their biggest package: $99.99/month for 150 gig....has been great.... www.exede.com

Just switched from Century Link after 15 years of their nonsense. So happy I did. I got CableOne about 2 - 3 weeks ago or so and rented their modem until I had time to go buy one. I bought one today, all hooked up now and It is way faster with my new modem instead of theirs. So glad I switched!!!!!!
