There are doorbuster sales on Joann's all week, if you need to shop in person. If you are comfortable going on-line, you can usually find some good deals on fabrics.com. Upholstery fabrics do get better/longer-lasting in the better grades/higher price point, though. I'm going to be recovering ours, but I'm going for grey cotton bottom-weight broadcloth... cheap and effective and durable. :D
