Rando question... does anyone know where I could find foundation vent covers? My house is missing 3, so they are just WIDE open holes. The 'kid' at Home Depot looked...
Rebecca, this one I found on the Lowes site above may be exactly what you need. http://www.lowes.com/ProductDisplay?partNumber=42055-52595-FV146G&langId=-1&storeId=10151&productId=3285020&catalogId=10051&cmRelshp=req&rel=nofollow&cId=PDIO1

I've never covered mine and it doesn't get that cold down there. I even checked during the extreme cold last winter and it felt pretty warm (didn't measure it). I did check that the pipes are all insulated near the vents. I researched this on buildingscience.com and concluded not to cover the vents and definitely not to insulate the floor like I was considering.

Might want to call Home Depot or next time you're there, ask to speak to the manager; this kid needs more training.:D
Alan M. replied:
You might also try Groom & Sons Hardware at Jupiter and Arapaho. Their folks are extremely helpful, and if they don't have it they generally know where to get it. I was hoping they'd take over the old C&S in Spring Creek the way they did the Jupiter location, but alas, didn't happen.

WAGD for group classes. K9 Den solutions or Serendogity for personal training. Is there an issue you are specifically trying to address? Pit bulls don't need specialized training. But you should find a trainer that will meet you and your dogs needs. I have worked with all 3 a above. I am also in consult with an animal behaviorist for issues outside a regular trainer would address.

If you're interested in training your dog yourself, I recommend All Breed Obedience Training Club at Flag Pole Hill by White Rock Lake. Classes are Wednesday nights 7:30-8:30 http://www.abotc.com/
Does anyone have recommendations for dog training in the area?
Donna H. replied:
If you want to learn how to train your dog yourself, I recommend All Breed Obedience Training Club, http://www.abotc.com/html/trainingsafely.html. Cost is very reasonable (8 lessons for $80.00 or 8 lessons for $40.00 if your dog is a rescue dog). Classes are held every Wednesday evening at Flag Pole Hill at White Rock Lake. Once you have completed the 8 weeks of beginner training, you may join the club for $50.00 dues per year and continue with intermediate and advanced classes for as long as you wish. Classes are taught by volunteers. I have been going with my Sheltie rescue dog for almost a year and have really enjoyed it.
