Soooo where is a good vet for a Sunday problem? Like an emergency vet or something like that???
Edward P. replied:
I believe they have a vet on duty at the Banfield within Petsmart. There is also an emergency vet on Greenville at Markville (just south of LBJ) that I've used. (972) 994-9110. Good luck.

arapaho animal clinic at Arapaho and Westshore is ours and we love them. Dr. May is leaving though,or left last week--but we are still happy with the practice.
Nicole A. replied:
Arapaho Animal Clinic. We couldn't be happier with them.
Lois F. replied:
Well, I can't find the lady who came to my house to clean Bogies teeth 2 years ago (I had our vet clean them a year ago when Bogie had to be knocked out for a minor surgery). But, you might check out this site. Vet cleaning with anesthesia can be very expensive... $150-$500. This should be a much better price: www.thetexastoothfairyllc.com
Cathy P. replied:
They have a FB profile, too. www.petmobile.com
Jeff T. replied:
Midway road animal clinic Dr Williams and Dr De La Torre. It's the first vet where haven't felt fleeced when I leave. Going there for over a year now and I must say I actually enjoy going to the vet. Honest and upfront and very informative. Just google them you will see the reviews.
Reid R. replied:
We've been using our neighborhood vet for many years and always appreciated the good care for our furred family members. Richardson Veterinary Clinic, 733 Floyd Rd. next to Dallas Meditation Center.
Vicky S. replied:
We love Richardson Vet Clinic also, but I always hear good things about Arapaho Animal Clinic as well!
Traci M. replied:
We got all three of our dogs teeth cleaned awhile back at Richardson Vet Clinic on Floyd
Richardson Vet Clinic on Floyd Rd. My Avery passed away the day before Thanksgiving and they were the most compassionate staff. Stayed after hours & went above and beyond for us during such a tragic and heartbreaking time. They even did her paw print for me, comforted us, & gave us so many hugs/kind words.
Gosh, this group is awesome! So many things of local importance and interest to share! I wouldn't have known about the watering restrictions, for instance, crime or...

Try Dr. Julie Chabira at the Preston Road Animal Hospital - she's great.
Scott F. replied:
If the blood is in the cat's urine, sounds like it could be a urinary tract infection. If so, it's just a matter of balancing out your cat's pH - which can be managed through special cat food (can and/or dry, Royal Canin Urinary SO is the type, but by prescription/the vet only) - or simply with Apple Cider Vinegar (Google it for more info - worked for me, and MUCH less expensive than the drugs that didn't work!).
Barbara P. replied:
I use Richardson Vet Clinic as well. The facilities are a little dated and the waiting room is small but they are so nice!
Julie R. replied:
I'm in agreement with Richardson Vet Clinic on Floyd Rd. They are wonderful, knowledgeable, and affordable. In fact I think they recently won an award w/ D Magazine for Best Vet clinic.
Richard T. replied:
We use Richardson Vet Clinic as well. Overall very positive experiences.
Sandy H. replied:
Final update on the kitty...I took her to my doctor, who agreed to look at her as a friend, not professionally (as he's not a vet) and found a corn allergy! Saved me hundreds. Changed her food to Holistic Select and she turned the corner within a day. Zero more problems, after years of suffering!! She used to just sit four feet away and stare at me accusingly... Now she's purry, playful and well-adjusted. I highly recommend Dr. Lewis Cone, an alternative doc who addresses a myriad of health concerns using nutritional healing, 972/880-8541. Humans only. He's like the second half of my practice (CranioSacral therapy), as I do the emotional and structural release.

Arapaho Vet Clinic. " Down home" and terrific.
Lesley S. replied:
I love the staff and Dr May at Arapaho vet! They are great!
Suzanne K. replied:
I don't have cats, but Richardson Veterinary Clinic on Floyd Rd. just before the I75 service rd. is great.
Sara E. replied:
We take our cats to Cat Hospital of Dallas. Dr Weldon is excellent. Our cat was passing blood and was diagnosed with colitis, which antibiotics cleared up. Good luck to you and your cat.
Andrew L. replied:
Well we use Cat Hospital of Dallas. VERY thorough but be prepared. She is way expensive. If you think you cant afford it then don't bother. When my now passed buddy Merlin was having a tough time I had a bill that was a few hundred dollars for complicated stuff. Long and complicated issues but she helped me keep him alive and happy for over a year.
Donna W. replied:
I second Suzanne's suggestion. I've used Dr. Brantley at Richardson Vet Clinic for 35 yrs. Fair pricing, good location to our neighborhood, Floyd and James and great doctors.
Kay M. replied:
I really like my vet. I think I found him by online positive reviews. It's a small business, and he's a very caring person: Dr. Helmet Block, http://cottonwoodanimal.com/. (One of my dogs is wearing a cone right now from having several growths removed. Gotta love the cone!) My other dog is slowing down a little, and I have realized recently that the slight slowdown is not temporary. The best. - Kay

The Arapaho clinic is still there and I see Dr Perkins in there from time to time. We take Maggie to see Ed Hotz who works on Saturday at the clinic. Great vet and an Assistant Fire Chief in Richardson. Other great vets there as well, but I've known Ed the longest.

We go to Arapaho Road Animal Clinic http://www.aranimalclinic.com/
Stacey A. replied:
I use Arapaho Road Animal Clinic; they're not cheap for vaccines though.
Sharon H. replied:
Andrew, I can only assume that you are talking about Dr. Terry Perkins, he is the elderly vet who started this practice in the 60's. He treated our poodle for many years and was instrumental in saving his life from a serious back issue. He was very honest with us when we took him in for the last of his checkups in July, before we made the difficult decision to say goodbye to our sweet poodle of almost 16 years. I can only speak from my personal experience. I have never been offended by his straight forward manor, but I could see how some could be taken aback. I do believe that he is one that has the best interest of the animals he is treating. I personally would recommend Dr. Terry and the Arapaho Animal Clinic, but it is definitely a personal preference.

I'm getting my cat fixed Feb 18 th. There's a mobile spay/neuter unit doing $20 surgeries that day just outside the Velvet Snout on Beltline just west of Plano Road. I am not sure if they are accepting dogs or not, but I wouldn't hurt to check. 972-472-8345, leave a message with your info and they will call you back. It also comes with the rabies shot. $15 extra total for her other shots. Hope that helps.
