Sonia Matic, in my case it was not grinding down the lingual cusps but removal of the good existing crowns to "raise the VDO". After they were removed, the new ones which were attempted to be made too many times to count, never had high enough lingual cusps but always had very long buccal cusps. This prevented me from moving my jaw, closing the lips, cut into my cheeks from inside and so on. Luckily at some point, I learned how to remove the temps, and refiled them myself or later just made new ones -- LOL. For other patients, both cases were done--i.e. filing the lingual cusps and restoring them shorter than the buccal ones.
