I would NOT recommend Dr. Gonzalez. My kids cried every time we went. I just figured it was a dentist thing, but we finally switched a couple years ago. No tears since. I don't know why they didn't like him, but the unspoken words said enough.

Dr. Gonzalez is no longer affiliated with the Brandon Pediatric Dentistry but he still operates the location in Tampa. Julia Kuhn Young, I agree about him! I have recently left his practice and asa child never liked him, he always felt kind of "creepy" to me... Though was always a nice gentleman and did a GREAT job on my braces and cleanings over the years... There is a new doctor that took over the Brandon Office and retained Dr. Gonzalez's EX-partner( a LOVLEY and VERY VERY nice/sweet lady who I LOVED) and he was very nice to me the 2 times I saw him.. as well as played with the kids and specialized in goofy glasses with stuffed animals! I reccomend him at the Brandon Office!

Whatever you do, DO NOT GO TO Natalie Carr!! She came into my daughters room while having a procedure and was screaming at her office staff regarding insurance matters. My little girl was traumatized. I wasn't in the room but she told me that Dr. Carr was angry about "insurance" and was angry. She snapped at my daughter who was having a painful procedure. My daughter was hurting and had tears coming out of her eyes, Dr. Carr said, "if you move I'll slip and give you something to cry about"! Her staff seems scared of her! I had no idea what happened and left.My daughter told me all that had happened in the room. I called back to get my records to go somewhere else. Usually you are charged a fee to do so. The girls up front seemed afraid without my ever saying a word about the incident. They didn't charge me and couldn't even look me in the eye when I picked up her records. I'm happy these other people recommending her didn't have a bad experience. This woman has a bad temper and if she's having a bad day has no problem taking it out on your child.

Dr Abdoney was fantastic with my kids - his office is adjacent to his brother's orthodontics office on Bloomingdale (beside the new WaWa near Lithia Pinecrest)

For kids we see Dr Carr. She is AMAZING!!! Dr. Abdoney is wonderful also =)

Great expressions is ok! I worked there for 13 years went thru several Company names, changed hands a lot. The dentist I worked for are not there any longer however, at the FH location I believe that Dr. Seahoffer is still there and she is super nice. For Pediatrics please check out If you haven't already Dr. Abdoney or Dr.Carr. Good luck with your search. Picking new Dr's is always tough.

Would never go back to Dr. Gonzalez. He did completely UNNECCESSARY work on my 5 year old(many years ago) and wanted to put a crown on my 3 year old's tooth. Don't trust them and I've heard that from other people as well.

Yes, I am looking for a pediatric dentist. My kids are under a dental plan that I am finding out is not widely accepted. In an earlier post, Dr. Gonzalez was not at all recommended and neither is Great Expressions! I may just have to bite the bullet and drive to one! Thanks everyone!

The best dentist in the world is Dr. John Cherry in Brandon, off Bloomingdale. He is the kindest, most gentle dentist, who genuinely cares for his patients.

Moffett Center in Riverview (big bend 301 area) ... they did my wisdom teeth last month and Dr Moffett is amazing and so is his staff. And they were quick about getting me scheduled in to get them removed. And even called for checkups days after removal. Super clean and nice as well

Dr Steven Harkey is awesome! Not sure about $ either since I have dental through Sprint...but he is in S Riverview on 301. My girls LOVE him too! (He wears a bow tie!:-P )

I'm a huge fan of Healthy Smiles in Zephyrhills, look into a discount card program, not insurance, most insurance is garbage.
