I don't know if the timing will work but a wildlife tour on Necker Island would be fun http://gumptionblog.com/wildlife-tours-to-necker-island/

go to The Baths on Virgin Gorda. Spectacular. If you're determined to stay on Tortola, which is still very much rebuilding, I recommend a taxi to Cane Garden Bay a most beautiful beach. Still recovering but there are chairs and cold drinks and food. And the nicest people on the planet. I know Myett's is open.

We've never cruised, only done land vacations for years to the VI. We're going on our 1st cruise only bc I want to relax and not drive. With that being said, the hurricanes have definitely changed the breaking of the water at The Baths so if you're planning on swimming in, just use extra caution. It's a hefty swim in too if you're not used to swimming in the ocean (we live at the beach in NJ). It's probably best to taxi in and take the path down. While Soggy is probably THE BEST beach bar in existence, VG has this almost extraterrestrial landscape. Straight up looks like paradise in outer space w/ those boulders. Just an incredible sight to see. White Bay on JVD is glorious and the boats can get in closer to swim to the shore. Painkillers at Soggy are delicious but we paid like $29 for 2 regular and 2 virgin ones (for our older kids, 16 and 17 at the time).

Recommend the Baths on Virgin Gorda and then a stop at Cooper Island The kids will love them both and we would be delighted to accommodate you Bradley Powerboats Charter and Rentals Please Email me on bradleypowerboats@hotmail.com and I will be only too happy to help you :-)

Visited Jost on a cruise last year - truly heaven on Earth, gorgeous! Will definitely go back!

Are your girls good swimmers or are one of you good enough to swim them in from about 150 feet out? The boat trips to the Baths is probably the best excursion in the BVI. But you get dropped in the water and have to swim in and out. If that doesn't sound good, look for an excursion that takes you into Spanish Town by boat and then you take a taxi/tour bus to the top of the Baths and hike down (mild hike on a well maintained trail). Jost is nice if you lie beach bars. Thats the biggest thing to do there. The island beach is either Sandy Spit, which lost it's palm tree and is really just a sand bar now, or Sandy Cay which would be a harder swim in then the Baths.

If you get a choice of two I would say Soggy Dollar Bar on Jost Van Dyke and The Baths in Virgin Gorda. They are both long trips so another great place right on Tortola is Smuggler’s Cove.

Go to https://www.facebook.com/650491698386600 Hendo's Hideout on Jost, newest upscale, great food on White Bay

The Baths on Virgin Gorda for sure. I'd also go to Anegada. Or go snorkeling off Cooper Island or on Norman Island. Sage Mountain on Tortla has anice short hike in a rain forest. Great trees and huge philondenrons if not dmagaed by Irma. There is also a trail on top of Virgin Gorda, if you want a good view and consider something other thatn beach .

Any recommendations for a personal tour guide/operator for the island of Tortola. Not interested in the large Safari group tours and would like a more of a 'local lime'...
