The VAMC sends me to see Dr. Gross at Lewis Gale Hospital. I go back to him tomorrow, so I'll wait to give you a review as it could change tomorrow. If they refer you to plastic surgeon DO NOT go to Dr. Samuel Mitchener!!! Seriously don't waste your time with him. Dr. Tonya Weed is okay, much better than Mitchener, but still not that great, I would give her a C+.

Not a fan of Dr. Gross. Horrible bedside manner. Timmerman and Dorsey good, but you may not be able to get in in a reasonable amount of time.

Dr Gross ... takes 4-6 months an apt and he spends 2 mins with you. Not recommended. Tried to see him a couple times and always the same result. My daughter sees the PA (Amanda Hullett) at Art & Science of Dermatology on Brambleton. Love them.

I waited to tell you because I knew the appt would be a little different than the last time I saw Dr. Gross. I had an issue with skin cancer last summer and this year my uncle learned he's got melanoma (life threatening kind of skin cancer) that's spread all over including his lungs and brains. I told Dr. Gross that and he took a long time to look thoroughly all over as well as brought in a resident doctor, his PA, and another doctor just to be safe. All is fine, but I went in with high expectations and happy to say he delivered.
