I personally avoid physical activity - my doctor told me it would be bad for my obesity. However, I believe [Park Ave Bike Shop](http://parkavebike.com/storelocator/monroe-clover-1.htm) (which is not anywhere near Park Ave) is supposed to be a top notch store, at least the Pittsford location.
funfunn replied:
Tryon bike on winton road, there specialty is mountain biking. Its the kind of shop where you'll go in there and then see the same people riding on the trails the next day.

Plenty of fine trails in our area. The Lehigh Valley Bike Swap outside of Trexlertown is coming up. A bit of a haul, but good people and a ton of good bikes/parts. Good place to haggle. Picked up this [bike](http://www.thebikestand.com/falcon-tri-58-red.html) last year for $320 when it was going for $500

I personally go to Towpath Bike on the canal in the village of Pittsford. The customer service is phenomenal, I've never had a more personal relationship with a bike company.

i second funfunn, tryon bikes on winton is the place to go for mtb anything except parts, in the parts department id recommend towners just because of sheer volume but they can be extremely rude at times. I bought my Fuji at trailblazers in victor but they are no longer around. Really depends on the brand of bike your looking for. No bike shop sells all of them they usually only have one or two kinds. I recommend konas and gary fishers

Hey you should go to Towners. I went there this week. I looking to buy a beginner bike for $500 any suggestions. I almost got this one (http://www.giantnerd.com/tommaso-tiempo-road-bike-beginner.html#social_tab_content_review) but after I order it they said that they didn't have it in stock.

Definitely try Towpath Bike in the village of Pittsford. The staff there not only know what they're talking about but are incredibly nice and always try to establish positive relationships with their customers. Plus, the owner is a trailbuilder at Dryer Road Park in Victor, which is easily the most fun place to get into trail riding in the area. I've been biking there for three years, they have trails for every skill level as well as a technical skills area, and I have never encountered anyone riding there that wasn't incredibly friendly.
does anyone know of any bike shops they will buy bikes?? I have 4 I am looking to get rid of.
Barry C. replied:

Try Bike Zone on Ridge... if in the market they will buy and/or trade
Krista A. replied:
If you just want to get rid of them, consider donating to R Community Bikes (www.rcommunitybikes.net). But if you want some $$ for them, start with Craigslist.
[QUESTION] Looking to purchase a new-to-me bike. Anyone know of any shops that sell used? Hey guys, wondering if any of you know about or had experience with bike shops...

My brother went to [Rochester Community Bikes](http://www.rcommunitybikes.net/) a while back. He said the people were helpful and I believe they have a variety of price ranges. His bike was later stolen though... so get a bike lock while you're at it.

Craigslist is always an option, just be careful of stolen bikes, and sex dungeons...
Munitorium replied:
Pinkbike.com has a classifieds section by region, might see it there if you are looking in the realm of mountain bikes. Probably not quite in the budget you are looking at though. Craigslist is king for sub 300 dollar bikes.

I have a fuji Sports 10 it's an older ten speed. I'd sell it for 60 bucks/obo and you could use the other money to get it set up to ride. Pm me if interested.
Two things I need: please recommend to me a sporting goods store and a bike shop in Rochester. I have a few suggestions, want more

check out http://www.rcommunitybikes.net/ R Community Bikes: Rochester, New York www.rcommunitybikes.net We are still giving away bikes each Wednesday and Saturday, although at a slower... pace than during the summer and early fall. I'll put in a plug for Full Moon Vista on South Ave - but they're probably kinda pricey. good people, though!
Hi neighbors! Any recommendations for a local/family owned bike store? I need to get both of my kids (ages 5 and 7) new bikes and really wanted to avoid toys r us. ...
Stephanie D. replied:
Full Moon Vista on south Ave! Great friends of mine since they were on St. Paul street downtown! They have real deal bikes though, not cheap. Good, long lasting bikes!! They can help you find the perfect bike for your kiddos!
Lisa S. replied:
Full Moon Vista. They will do the absolute best job of fitting you with a bike that is right for your needs. They aren't cheap, but it's worth the price. If you can't afford the stock they carry, at least take whatever you buy in there to be checked, adjusted, and set up correctly. Most of the big retailers are not going to give you a bike set up correctly for you.
