Definitely recommend Tail Spin Bracelets! I have a bracelet and a necklace made from the tail of my first gelding who passed away 5 years ago. They are still in great condition, no fraying, they professionally preserve the hair and even pick out the be st pieces to use if your horse has special colors or highlights. I have given many a horse bath with the bracelets on, I have gone swimming with them on too with no consequences. I have a second bracelet from my last gelding and I cherish these pieces very much so. Pricing is worth it since they preserve the hair and it's professionally done. They send any extra hair back as well.

I'm also looking for a new black doctor (PCP). Shabaka and I were just discussing the fact that other ethnicities have the benefit of a common language that is other than english to use the search engines built into most HMO sites. But that doesn't help us as decedents of those without a common language. Joan Chisolm is a female OB/GYN -- Love her!

Can someone recommend a couple GPS watches that are good for an Ultra run? My watch currently has a battery life of four hours and won't cut it.
Patrick M. replied:
Garmin 310 xt - battery life about 20 hours, and it's getting to be reasonably priced. If you can wait a bit for a new product that's just launching, you might want to check out "bia" http://www.bia-sport.com/ (That's a picture of a bia on top of a 310 xt on their home page.)
Egils R. replied:
Yellow Jacket Racing is contracted to do the race timing for 2014 Mind-The-Ducks. YJR was the same company who did race timing in 2012, therefore I expect similar setup.
Tonya T. replied:
heartratemonitorsusa.com- best price around for the Garmin 310 xt free shipping and no tax! I got mine for 160.00
Patrick M. replied:
No doubt the mounting mileage/lap total is a big motivator! Again this is only an assumption based on MTD 2012, but there was a very visible display where you crossed the timing mat that showed your name, bib number, and lap count each time you crossed. Maybe Egils Robs will jump in here and tell us whether this year will have a similar setup.

I use the Garmin Forerunner 210. It's basic, but perfect for me. If you go with a Garmin watch, you can use Garmin Connect (free website) to track your workouts and mark your personal records and such. Plus, you can do the equivalent of friending other runners to see how folks are doing, routes folks have saved, and whatnot.
