Up until recently, Acme Lock on State Street had all the supplies anyone needed. They are now out of business - I wonder what happened to all their parts. In a worse case scenario, contact Bill Rigby in Cooperstown. He's the regional expert.https://ahhardware.com/history/

Historic House Parts has a good selection of things like that, too.
Was there a hardware store in the little plaza where the Towne Lounge and the shoe repair shop were? I can't really remember: maybe it was near Klem's?
Mark P. replied:
Marc Samuels (Titus Ave Shoe Repair) resoled my first pair of boots. I seem to remember he was a pretty good guitarist too. But not sure- was there Muxworthy's AND Titus Ave. Harware almost next to each other? Gary Muxworthy later took over most of the shop for the original Ski Co. Spent many $$$ on boots, bindings and skis there for a few years. Then off to Bristol Mnt.
Lynn T. replied:
Amark Drugs was next to Muxie's
