For something in the style of what you posted, you'll probably want to check out [Dylan Tate at LoveHate](https://www.instagram.com/dylantatetattoos_lhmf/)
PearlTrade replied:
It's not exactly the same style, but I got a tattoo of a statue by Kyle Downs that came out awesome: https://www.instagram.com/p/18 nyiiApdf/?hl=en&taken-by=the_doom_sayer

Basically, just drive down Monroe. I'm pretty sure the only business allowed are tattoo parlors, Pho places, and bars.

I'm a big fan of Love Hate Tattoo on Alexander St right near Monroe Ave. I'm actually going to get my next one from them some time this week.

Go to Tom Sherman or Newt at Divine Chaos - Tom used to be at Physical Graffiti - opened a ship in Leroy and now has Divine Chaos - by far the best artist and team of artists in Rochester you cant skimp on price when it's something for a lifetime but he isn't overpriced by any means for the quality of work he and his team put out
dmbhaggis replied:
Upstate Tattoo on the corner of Clinton and Goodman does solid work at affordable prices. Their Celtic work is excellent

I went to extreme graphics, got mine done by sniper who is nationally recognized. It was very affordable, he does great work, and they are open more hours than most any other places.

There are better ways to remember and honor those times than to print them on your skin.

Lucky Lotus, now on Elton St in the Neighborhood of the Arts. Great shop. I have a half-sleeve from Steve.
katy_b replied:
I am a HUGE fan of Lucky Lotus. All three artists there have got talent! Brandon Holcombe would probably be best suited for the piece you mentioned. Good luck!
Love_N replied:
I make it a point to ask everyone with decent ink that I see who did it and where, and 9 times out of 10 they answer that it was either Jet or Aiden at Love/Hate. I don't know about their prices, but remember that your ink is going to be there more or less forever, so it's really a super important investment. (not that I don't get working with a small budget - I for one am crying over my budget of $0.) Best of luck!

I got mine done at The Ultimate. Great place. [Here's their website](http://www.theultimatebody.net/) I got a nice custom one on my back for 150. It was my first and I had some phobia of needles and the guy was really understanding, gave me a snapple, and calmed me down. Overall great experience

I'm particular to physical graffiti myself, i've had all three of mine done their, exceptional work!

I got my ink at Love/Hate and after almost 5 years I'm still very pleased. Kid sister wants to get her first at Extreme but can't reason why. (Ive tried to explain to her that Extreme is just a building and she needs to pick an artist.) Not seeing much love for Extreme - would anyone mind weighing in?
Trusted Tattoo parlors with professional experience? I'm looking for something down the road, thanks.

Jamie Cole, Upstate tattoo co. 970 s. Clinton ave, next to highland park diner. He's amazing.
Kristine S. replied:
I had mine done by Ken Karnage at Vigilante Tattoo on Culver. He's great. It's only halfway done.
Lyndsey R. replied:
Most of my work is done by Voodoo Charlie at Voodoo Monkey Tattoo on Monroe. Jason Ferguson at American Villain on Main does some amazing work. Ken Karnage at Vigilante, both White Tigers, and Jamie Cole at Upstate Tattoo Co also have my votes of confidence.

Star at White Tiger in Webster. She did an amazing cover up for me. I would post but it's on my butt

This is directly from the NYS Department of Health's website: "It is violation of Section 260.21 of New York State Penal Law to tattoo minors under the age of 18, regardless of parental consent." https://www.health.ny.gov/community/body_art/
Justin B. replied:
Nah, I was gonna say, the hello kitty one was done with sharpie, but looked legit. I do know Wally Willson in Brockport tattoos minors though, my daughter is proof.

http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Legal_status_of_tattooing_in_the_United_States That's every states legal ages Joe. Not all states are the same. Some are as low as 13 with parent consent! Find out what state that video is from & report them.

I love Emma at white tiger, but her shop is also in the orange zone so I wouldn't expect her to have availability for a long time.

[Marbles](https://www.mellowmadnesstattoo.com/marbles) at Mellow Madness is the only person I trust to tattoo me. She knows what she's doing and is a phenomenal artist!
feckless_ellipsis replied:
I’m a bit late in recommending someone, but Joel at Pure Image in Fairport is fantastic. He did two coverups for me, one of which was an all-black tribal thing that I chose in my 20s. I blame the 90s. I brought in a face of a statue that I liked, and he created something even more impressive as an end result
Anyway, he’s meticulous in his work, his shop is immaculate, and he’s good to work with. He’s a quiet guy for the most part, as he’s one of those focused-artist types. He is sort of all business. That was ok with me with the end result.
I do recall some photo realism in his portfolio as well. That’s not what I was shooting for, so I can’t fully vouch for that. He did show me drawings that he’d been playing around with that did demonstrate that ability, though.
So, another option if you are still in the investigation stage. I paid $125/hour for his time.

Thank you for this recommendation! I’ve seen great photo realism artists around Rochester but Bri at Pyramid has that mix of realism and pencil sketch type look I’ve been wanting to find.

Pyramid Art is AMAZING. JJ and Ben Wight are so nice and made the whole experience wonderful. I posted my tattoo from Ben like a week ago if you click on my page!

I’ve gotten tattoos from two different artists at Pyramid Arts and I’d highly recommend them! Everyone there is very talented. I’m not sure if anyone there specializes in the style you’re looking for but I would definitely check them out
DontTreadUpstate replied:
Tom Sherman at Art Affliction. Not sure what he charges an hour but average is usually $80-$100/hr with most respectable artists. Happy you’re shopping around and not going the “yo, my boy does $50 sleeves” route!
