I AM LOOKING FOR A PHYSICAL THERAPIST IN THE GREATER DC AREA WITH REAL EXPERTISE IN PD. PROXIMITY TO ROCKVILLE MD A PLUS. ANY RECOMMENDATIONS? THANKS
Michael S. replied:
Jeff: I would highly recommend Georgetown Univ. for a therapist who specializes in PD. I don't show one in the Rockville area but you could call any Rockville therapist and ask if they have experience with PD or check with local neurologists and ask for a referral. Also, ask Georgetown's movement disorder clinic to develop a duplicatable program that you can take to a more local therapist. For a MD advocate check out: http://www.parkinsonsaction.org/your-voice/pan-your-state/maryland I hope this helps.

Can anyone recommend a good physical therapist in the Arlington/Alexandria area? Bonus if they have experience working with paddlers.
Xan L. replied:
Nathan Nahikian
Nathan N. replied:
Airrosti. Dr Kemp has saved my shoulders and back multiple times. Expensive but you can turn bill into insurance usually. Best outcome the quickest for the usual paddle problems.
Eric V. replied:
Look at Fast Track. My wife and daughter have been receiving treatment from them. I've been impressed with their experience and approach, but also their willingness to go into new territory, like paddling. My daughter is in crew and they have been working in the unfamiliar world of women's' rowing. https://www.google.com/maps/search/sport+physical+therapy/@38.8749557,-77.2318922,16.75 z
