Can anyone recommend an an NHS dentist in the area, who is autism friendly please? We're being crippled by private dentist charges over in Coventry because I couldn't...
I have a son who is autistic and has lots of sensory issues (he is 6yrs), he now goes to see a dentist called Jennie at the 'special care dental service'. We go to Crown Way clinic in Lillington. If you ask your current dentist to refer you/your child to the 'special care dental service' they just fill out a form and send it off on your behalf, if you have any issues with your dentist doing this then others can refer for you I.e school nurse or other professionals involved with you/your family. It is an NHS service and can't recommend highly enough. they spend extra time with my son and there is no pressure for him to do things he is not happy with. He also has appointments every 3 months to help with his anxiety about going. Hope this info is helpful.
