Anyone ever tried acupuncture? If so, does it work? If it does work, any recommendations in the Sacramento area?

Dr. Tai in the South area is a Western/Easter medicine and uses acupressure and is fantastic. My sisters friend who walked with canes went to him and after one visit she walked out without using cane. He has helped me with back problems. Friends daughter-in-law had trouble walking on sprained ankle and walked out as if sprained ankle was healed. He can do two people in a visit. $40 a treatment. First visit count on at least 2 hours. It can hurt but you will benefit from his treatment. 424-2236 Off of Elder Creek/47 th avenue and hwy, 99. His place of business is his home garage with bathroom attached. Amazing man. Took friend who had swollen legs and feet. After working on her the swelling had gone down.
Has anyone in the Sacramento area ever gotten acupuncture? Or do you know someone who has gotten acupuncture here in town and been happy w/ the results???

You might try Active Life Chiropractic in Midtown. A lot of Midtown S&C and SuperTraining peeps go to Dr. Magale. I love her. She's used to Olympic lifters too.
Charles S. replied:
Jessica Randall. I already called them. I even tried a name drop. Of corse I just reached a receptionist. They are booked 2 weeks out. $175 first visit.
Charles S. replied:
Adam Gothard chiro is not covered in my kaiser. Emily Manatan is that the guy dave mentioned? He said that would run me almost $200. I may have to just bite the bullet.
Charles S. replied:
David Han Emily Manatan Megan Price just called. It's $175 for the first visit, and no openings for 2 weeks. So if any of you have a connection that could lower that cost, or shorten the weight id love that. I can't wait another. 2 weeks.
David H. replied:
The guys at Elite Spinal are top notch. Todd Neider is also an option. He does massage and ART at Elite Spinal. Problem with Todd is he's booked out a month but maybe he can let you know if someone cancels. The guys at Elite Spinal are also the guys I want to involve with the DARI.
Shelbi D. replied:
Van Dusen Physical Therapy! 60$ cash pay my dad or Shawn could fix you up, hook you up to stim and then give you the exercises/stretches you need to do to improve! Oh and you would be able to get in asap. I wouldn't recommend going to a chiropractor, it's only a temporary fix.
Emily M. replied:
Dr. Edward Chu at Elite Spinal. Chiropractic and a.r.t.
Kirsten M. replied:
Chiro is not temporary. Drugs are temporary. Chiro puts things back in place then PT strengthens to keep everything in place. Wish you were in Fresno. Dr Claudia Anrig Chiropractic Offices has been a life saver!
I'm going to try acupuncture to loosen up the tight muscles in my bad leg. Anyone have an acupuncturist they would recommend, or a place they know of to get it?
Melissa B. replied:
Look up "Bikram Yoga Natomas', it's by the Bel Air on Arena. It's hard to handle the heat at first, but my back already feels better and I've only been going for 2 weeks.
Gotta find a cure cure for this back pain then life will be almost perfect. Has anybody done acupuncture? I'm down to try any approach with no pain meds
