Hello. Do you know what district you will be moving into? What grade is your child going to be in? I'm the Educational Audiologist with Sac City Unified. We have a great DHH TC program. All of our teachers talk and sign as do I and our Speech Therapists. Some other districts will send their kids to us if they feel they can't support the student. Feel free to PM me if you want I'll give the scoop. Welcome to Sacramento!

Check out http://www.norcalcenter.org/ and possibly Fremont school for the Deaf.

You should probably ask your child's primary care physician.

I'm a school psychologist-- I would start with services offered through your home school. Even if your child is under school age, the district should offer you speech and audiology services (although you may have to consent to some assessments first). Check out the school district near your home. Good luck!

There is a Shriner's Children's Hospital in Sac, Davis Medical Center, the Sutter and Dignity health systems -- I'm sure there are resources available among all those places. I found a lot of listings just by googling "deaf children services Sacramento" so maybe that will get you started in the direction you want -- some of the references were to State services. Good luck -- welcome to the area.

Can anyone recommend a good audiologist in the area? I need someone to perform an auditory processing IEE on my son and obviously I'm considering someone outside of the...

We went to the Sacramento State University Campus. Just make sure your child's ear is free of wax first. $200 or $250 if I remember correctly. The district covered. http://www.csus.edu/hhs/csad/clinical-services/maryjane-rees-language-speech-and-hearing-center.html
