Community service delivering groceries? Hey all,
I’d like to give back to the community. I am a healthy 30 y/o with a car based in SF.
Does anyone know of any...
MV-only-alt replied:
That’s a really considerate idea. Meals on Wheels SF has paused any new volunteers, but the city has a program for matching volunteers with seniors and others who need assistance: https://sf.gov/be-emergency-volunteer You could also post this on your neighborhood NextDoor.

Check out food banks. Second Harvest is looking for volunteers to do grocery delivery along the peninsula/south bay.
Beersharks replied:
Nextdoor has a “help map” feature where you can connect with neighbors who might need someone to grab their groceries or other things.
CoffeeNFlowers replied:
Shanti Project SF is asking for volunteers to do exactly this! You get reimbursed for the groceries cost and are asked to deliver the groceries to their door. Great way to help others and if you have a credit card that gives you points for shopping, you can earn some extra as a perk. Here's their IG for contact info [Shanti Project](https://instagram.com/shantiprojectsf)

Hi Deb, try this org " Helping hearts foundation" 916 743 1095, this is the org that helped find housing for Mike's brother. It is more than 400 dollars, but the place he is at, is considered assisted living. They include all, food, have laundry facilities, take them to their Dr. Appt's, etc. The guy we dealt with is "Pak" if he is not able to help, he might be able to give you other contacts. Good luck!
Can anyone recommend a grocery store or places around to shop?

OP InitialGold—I just saw a post from a local shop called Shift Market on Freeport. I’ve never been, but I’ve heard decent things (more about craft beer). Anyway, they posted a pic of J Lohr wine and I thought of you. Never even heard of that wine, but you might want to check out a place like Michael David in Lodi, taste, and get some recs from actual professionals.

Anyone know if coconut oil is readily available at a grocery store? I have a new cookie recipe to try!!
Abbey L. replied:
So hear are a few of my testimonies... My daughter had a planters' wart, tried everything, had an appt. with a dermatologist scheduled... Spent a week putting coconut oil on it... It turned black, fell off. My daughter decided to attempt to reach the monkey bars by jumping, had a school ground accident, scratched up her face pretty decent, put coconut oil on it for three days, all scratches, and scabs with exception of the deeper cuts were healed entirely. My son had a scratch on his face due to eczema, wouldn't heal... Tried some pharmacy related prescribed products... Didn't work. Put coconut oil on it for 4 days... Healed and gone. My son has athletes foot... Buy all standard products, work but never entirely... Put coconut oil on them... Heals next day. Coconut oil works for EVERYTHING... It's also a healthy and safe laxative. We go to the dr. too... But sometimes the things that are well over 2000 years old... Work just as great as no other.... http://www.hybridrastamama.com/2012/08/333-uses-for-coconut-oil.html
