We need a good math tutor for our eighth-grader in Algebra 1. Referrals please!

Have you tried asking the local high school to see if theres a high schooler that would be willing to help. Or ask the Algebra teacher if they could recommend anyone....I love math, but not once they started adding funky symbols into it. Also try Khan Academy(http://www.khanacademy.org/math/algebra) and You Tube for videos. No lie. It is really helpful to see them done in front of you.

Erica Higashi but I don't know if she has time now that she's working full time. If my son ever gets his calculus done, I can bring him to the gym so he can try to help(if your child isn't opposed to an 11 yr old tutor. ;)

That's a great recommendation. I did try local high schoolers. I only received one response then when I asked her what her availability was, didn't hear back. I need someone responsible. School counselor said to try Consumnes River or Sac State. I'd like to stay local if possible.
I need a math tutor for my 13 year old son. He was blessed with his Dad's good looks but unfortunately he was also blessed with my math skills.

What kind of math? I find khanacademy.org to be helpful. They have tutorials on everything from algebra to calculus, plus other subjects to help students get ahead of the game.

Ramona is right. Khan Academy is legit. Don't sell yourself short though. It wasn't your aptitude. It was me, you, Q, Harvey, James, Joanne, Kadelia (I think her name was) and a bunch of other people in that class...1 st period, too. It was geometry.

I'm looking for a math tutor for my seventh grade daughter. I prefer a high school or college student who's excellent in math and wants to earn a little bit of extra...
