Yes, there is a difference between the 2 as a lot of women call themselves interior designers, but in fact are not truly qualified and are more decorators. My former career was Commerical/ Healthcare Interior Design and certainly would be happy to put you in the right direction with someone who is truly qualified.

I have a friend that owns http://www.oddsandendsdesignrental.com/Gallery.html they have the cutest vintage items that they use for weddings. We used one of the couches she has for our family photo shoot. They are not too pricey and they will come set up and take down and you don't have to worry about a thing.
