Does anyone have a sports physical therapist or a doctor who understands running they want to recommend? I am training for a marathon and have a nagging pain in my knee....
Stephanie A. replied:
Tara Baum rigger point massage therapist. She will heal you quickly if she can. I would recommend trying her before you go down the long physical therapy and multiple doctor visits. 801-550-9412
Rachel D. replied:
Jen Pine at Pinnacle. She's a runner, climber, overall badass and a PhD in PT. She's fantastic.
Jess T. replied:
Spence Richards, sports med doc at the Sports Medicine Specialty Group (offices in SLC and Bountiful). I've seen him for multiple injuries over the last 4 years - he'll absolutely work with you to keep you out there if at all possible. He's a triathlete, runner, etc so he understands.
Dave M. replied:
Jennifer Hanna at Zenergy Massage in Draper is a great place to start for a running injury. She may be the only therapy you need. If not, she will let you know if you should see a doc
Hi All,
I know I've asked this before, but can anyone recommend a great Physical Therapist in SLC (preferably near the Aves, but I'll consider anything within a 30 mile...
Fletcher H. replied:
not a PT persay, but Steve Frogley does chiro + soft tissue, and never told me to "stop." based up in Heber, but worth the drive!
Audrey K. replied:
Also Laura Lamarche up at the U is an incredible running focused PT. But I believe she is out on maternity leave until February.
Travis G. replied:
Thanks everyone...all great suggestions. Sounds like Steve Frogley may be worth an hour drive!

Steve Frogley is your guy!

Joel W. replied:
I have had positive experiences with both Joel Nuttall at TOSH and Laura LaMarche at the U for physical therapy. But I would also try a chiro as well

Josh at RPT is great along with Josh at Hand and Ortho. Both places are AWESOME. Or Chris Harper at Alpine Physical Therapy in Sandy right next to Alta. He was my Physical Therapy teacher last year... he has TONS of experience and is the smartest guy I've ever met when it comes to PT!
Can anyone recommend a physical therapist in Salt Lake for back pain? I've always had back issues and could use some assistance keeping me active. Thanks!
Smooge123 replied:
Just got great help from the U orthopedic center for my shoulder http://healthcare.utah.edu/orthopaedics/ but I think you need a referral from your doctor to go there, YMMV. I was ignoring my pain until my better half made me go in and it is so much better now. Good for you doing something to improve your lot, I wish you good luck.

American Wellness Clinic does a really good job. http://wellnessandrehabclinic.com

At Tosh, I went to see PT. Tom Higgs and he's honestly the best PT I've ever worked with. He will fix you up in not time.
Anyone know of a good Physical Therapist at TOSH and a sports orthopedic surgeon/physician? My brother in law is looking for a good recommendation.
Jennifer M. replied:
Amber Isaacson Lowder, I think Dr. Paulos does shoulders too. I would definitely call and ask. He is one of the top orthopedists in the nation, and he just recently returned to Salt Lake. Here is his web site: http://lonniepaulosmd.com/default.htm
Brooke J. replied:
Aaron Swalberg. I've never been to him for PT. But I know he's a good guy and most likely really good at what he does.
Jennifer M. replied:
Most orthopedic doctors specialize. Do you know what kind he needs? If its knees, the best in Utah are Dr. Lonnie Paulos or Dr. Vernon Cooley. My sister has been to them both.
Katia S. replied:
I go to Dr. Young. He is so nice.
Halene D. replied:
Wade Meier is fabulous and close to home too. And he accepts ANY insurance.
Dave O. replied:
Michael Metcalf at TOSH he did my arm. He is great.
Who knows a really good physical therapist at Tosh??? We need one in a bad way!!

Know a few good ones in Central Utah:) https://www.facebook.com/pages/South-Central-Therapies/170790559636357?ref=hl One of my class mates was there but I believe she has moved to the Clinic in Park City. Brian Rodriguez has an office West Jordan and I think you would be served well there. Let me know I you need more info. Good Luck:)
